ahh.. I was going to post about this last night.

Fucking Mass-holes thought a Cartoon Network advertising stunt was a Terrorist attack.

I heard nothing about it all day long, then on my way back from work driving into Boston I hear more police sirens than usual.

Close to my apartment I see a bomb squad special operations truck run a red light.

Get into my place and constantly hear helicopters buzzing around..

Finally turn on the TV and check some news sites on the net. I couldn't believe it.

They even closed down all the ports on the Charles River..

Worst thing of all, this wasnt the only city it was done in. Oh Boston..

Hard to believe Dutchmasterflex its that surreal

Still wondering how it could have gotten this far...

How is this a Hoax? did some one say there are bombs around the city knowing that they werent? I mean wouldnt a hoax device be somethin left somewhere so it looks like a bomb and is meant for ppl to think it is? I dont see how they are at fault for putting up led signs. I think the police should be ashamed for pursuing this and arresting people. But atleast ATHF will get a shitload of publicity now.

Im definately jealous of anyone that gets to steal one. I think theres gonna be a giant scavenger hunt of fans now.

novass 02-01-2007 08:52 PM

Thats ridiculous. I like this part:

Quote:

The first device was found under Interstate 93, and the state police bomb squad was called and detonated the package in Sullivan Square just before 10 a.m. Officials said it contained an electronic circuit board with some components that were "consistent with an improvised explosive device," but they said it had no explosives.
They detonated it LMAO I find it funny that it says they have been up for two to three weeks before people noticed and freaked out. Stupid people, is a terrorist really going to take the time to make a bomb with pretty lights on it?

I want one though, I like the show and it looks pretty cool. Im gonna check Ebay.

acmarttin 02-01-2007 09:11 PM

Man, we (the US) deserve every ounce of fucking criticism that we get over this.

I'm ashamed.

Mattk 02-01-2007 09:26 PM

Yeah, I heard about this last night. Seriously, if I were planning to detonate a serious of bombs around a major city, I probably wouldn't be too keen on installing a whole heap of LED lights around it to direct people to the exact location of the bombs.

However, when we're in a situation where terrorism is so spontaneous and unconventional, you can understand why the paranoia has set in. Although this has gone way too far.

apparently you should cus it took ppl 3 weeks to freak out.

Mattk 02-01-2007 10:37 PM

^Yeah, that's weird, but the ridiculousness of this situation is emphasised by the fact that these don't even look like bombs.

ZfrkS62 02-02-2007 12:51 AM

i have been laughing my ass off over this.

The sad thing is, these 2 are going to get royally fucked over, as well as the marketing company and Turner just so that the Boston authorities can save face for being jackholes.

Meanwhile the guys at Turner are trying to figure out how much of a bonus to give the marketing guys for all this free publicity.

ATHF's popularity just, fucking, skyrocketed. everyone at work was talking about it, hell, my parents are laughing about it and they pass out 3 hours before the show even comes on.

I think Boston should just suck it up and take the shit that gets thrown at them.

StanAE86 02-02-2007 11:55 AM

The same stunt was done in several other cities as well, yet Boston practically shut down over it...what does that say about Boston citizens????

dutchmasterflex 02-02-2007 12:03 PM

They're a bunch of Mass-holes!

Who can't drive for shit either ;)

ViperASR 02-02-2007 12:12 PM

 I heard a quick blurb on the radio about it yesterday. Thats really really stupid that some people thought that was a bomb. Thanks for posting the picture, it really does show how threatening the 'bomb' looks

dutchmasterflex 02-02-2007 12:22 PM

They were talking a bout charging those involved on the news last night.. I caught it on TV while I was at the barber shop.. Funniest thing was that when they showed a picture of the Moonilite, they blurred out his hand giving the finger ;)
