P1 international experiences
 

hi everyone,

I'm currently considering joining P1 international. I was wondering if anyone is, has been or has friends who are members of this club and can let me know of their experiences. in particular I am wondering about the availability of cars, is it pretty rare that you get what you want?

we're tossing up between this and a 997 911, really love to know some opinions.

I'm guessing the membership to P1 is roughly equal to the cost of a 997. Is it a yearly membership? Lifetime?

IMO, if the membership at that cost isn't a lifetime membership, buy the 997. If it isn't a lifetime membership, it's money down the drain. Whereas with the Porsche, at least it'll hold some of it's value and can be resold for something newer/better.

You're probably going to want to drive the car all the time. Therefore, it makes sense to actually buy one of your own.

Buy the car so that you can drive 365 days around the year if need be.

Does the P1 international have a minimum age limit?

I'd guarantee a 911 for myself.

the memberships start at $27,000 AUS per year. it's limited kilometres and limited points to redeem cars but the lineup of cars is amazing.

my dad and myself would share the membership, it's pretty much the only way I'm going to be able to get my 21 year old ass behind the wheel of an F430 in the next ten years.

you all seem to be leaning toward purchasing the car and I think this is probably the way we'll go, but there seems to be so many reasons to go for the membership as well. if only we could do both! maybe a second hand 911 and a year's membership? I think that is the compromise of the century. :P
