the other type 41 Bugatti Royale sold for slightly less originally in a bidding war between Jerry Moore, and Tom Mongiham (sp? dominos pizza founder) In the parking lot, while Jerry was having his photo taken in the car, Tom offered $15 million, an offer which Jerry couldn't refuse, logically ;) also, this could be considered part of the auctioneering, as Tom and Jerry were the only two in the high dollar bidding war |
I want it to have my children :P

I spoke today with a guy who works for Audi Tradition in Germany. He told me that the private sale of this rare Auto Union Typ D 1939 at Christies was cancelled yesterday. The reason is unknown and Audi Tradition has nothing to do with this cancel. Audi Tradition isn't implied in this totally private sale and they don't want to buy it either, because Audi AG. has already an original one Auto Union Typ D 1938, in more they have ordered a replica last year to Crostwaite & Gardiner cars specialist. :D
Thus, for the moment this Auto Union Typ D will not be the most expensive car in the world...only for the moment. You can see a beautiful video presentation of the Auto Union Typ D which was planned for the Christie's auction. :good:  http://www.checkitout.co.uk/autounion/ |
