Porsche crash in Nurburgring @ 250 km/h

I thought there would be much more damage..

TopGearNL 11-29-2006 08:04 AM

Back wheels went on the grass, lost grip and spinned. At least the driver showed his skills in correcting and keeping the damage as minimum as possible.

These things can happen, otherwise we wouldn´t have such spectatcular vids from time to time :P

Yes, that was a pretty nice effort from the driver holding the car as stable as possible. The grass (especially when wet) could be very troublesome.

he was pushing a lot, trying to do a record lap (until the crash, he was on record pace) in a Techart Porsche. The driver , Ash ( don't know if written correct), is a well experienced driver

I don't like his "messy" driving style. Jackie Stuart wouldn't like it either. It's not smooth.

Can't see the vid, only have sound.... :?: :?:

Some cars need messy treatment - otherwise he would have been off 10 corners before that ;)

I remember the vid of the Radical record laptime - and Phil Benett, the driver, was much more 'relaxed' and smooth than this

RC said some cars, not all! :P

True again, but if you take your sportscar for a blast on the Nordschleife good chance its not set up properly.

The Radical had a perfect track setup!

250 km/h ? seems unlikely

Z3uS 12-11-2006 11:18 AM
