Pipes shouldn't burst like that, I live in the coldest capital city in the world where for the month of January it averages -30 degrees Celcius and our pipes have never had a problem, oh well I guess that is why homes in Canada are built better than in the U.S..

that's one of the ugliest things you'll ever see.. i'm working at a building right now, and a lady in the building next door was gone for the long weekend, when she came back, she found a nice flooded first floor apartment, with hardwood floors, ceiling, walls, furniture and everything else destroyed.. that's what happens when cheap plastic pipes are used for plumbing

I had this same pic emailed to me and was reminded that the this winter here in Texas has been very mild - mostly 40 - 60 degrees F. Just wondering how cold is it where some of the other members live?
