Leaked photos: new Mercedes C-class

Källa

Spy photographers have captured the 2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class with less disguise than ever before. They even managed to get long-lens pictures of the car’s tail without any disguising at all.

An official unveiling is expected at the 2007 Geneva Motor Show, with sales starting shortly after.

Taillights look like a baby CL.

blue8 11-08-2006 04:58 AM

taillights were taken from the civic coupe!!!
it does not have the standard Benz-sedan grille yet...

Looks a bit Asian to me, like a Honda :?

Still its not ugly!

blue8 11-08-2006 06:16 AM

true!! well i never really thought that any of the new generation Benzes (from CLS - S - CL) were ugly. i actually like that each car looks unique from one another

OMG... Hyundai/Kia/SsangYoong tail lights?!

Thank goodness for Audi and Porsche. The only German cars with proper rears left!

WOW!! Ultra secret pics!! If Mercedes knew who took this pics, the guy would have serious trouble.

The car looks quite similar ( not to say exactly the same) to the photoshops done by AutoBild. Those guys never fail.

I think the car doesn't look very good. I don't really like the rear and the front looks boring :?

I think it looks quite nice actually - more CL-ish than the previous version which was plain dull and boring :? :D I like it! :good:

Well I did say that I didn't find it ugly, I just said what it reminded me off :P

Looks better then the old one I agree!

*yawns* boring. A smaller CL Mercedes, which isn't an all taht good looking car to start with :(

tom333 11-08-2006 03:19 PM

Not only is that thing ugly, it's super conservative and boring like mercedes styling almost always is.

I thought boring mercedes design was over when the new S class came out and the CL63 (which is almost avant garde) but they're back to that same old stuff that is lacking any excitement.

Yeah, this looks boring. Not ugly, just unremarkable. When you're competing with the 3-series and the A4, conservatism probably won't cut it. And the tail-light cluster design looks like that of Hyundai's Elantra.

You like the new W221 S-Class and call the C216 "almost avantgarde" yet you fail to see the similarities between those two cars and the new C-class?

In full showroom trim

Pre-production of the next generation Mercedes C-Class is under way in Daimler-Chrysler’s Bremen plant. The sedan is the first to be released at the 2007 Geneva Motor Show. Then the station wagon will follow about half a year later in fall 2007. Altogether it will be a completely new model range offering standard RWD and AWD as an option. Code-named W 204, the C Class will be available in four different styles, as sedan, station wagon, sports coupe and convertible. Power will come again from a variety of four- and newly developed six- cylinder engines. A sporty AMG version is in the pipeline, too. These latest photos are showing a red sedan prototype with only a few strips of black camouflage tape removed by image editing.
