Need your opinion on the rims for the porsche

hey folks

i'm thinking about lowering the car and changing the rims in the near future. first i thought to take the black techart formula, but they are so fu***ng expensive, thats crazy.
one option would be the GT3 MkI version. would look great anyway because i've got some gt3 parts on the car as you know. and the got the same dimensions as the rims and tires i got now.

last week the guy from my garage called me and told me that he's got some nice 3 pieces techarts for a very good price. had them on the car over the weekend. really nice rims, looks great in my opinion.

the problem with these rims are that the are much bigger than my actual and the GT3 ones. (btw it's impressive how the grip grows with those big wheels). if i would take the techarts i need to keep the old ones because it's not very clever to drive with 295 during winter... :D here detailed shot of the rim:

So which ones would you take?

I think the sport design wheels look better than the rather crude techarts, what about some GT3 MK2 wheels, they're 18', beautiful, and similar to the 19' rims on the 997 GT3. Love the Bi plane spoiler, MK2 GT3 dso the MK2 GT3 wheels will suit it.

By the way, I'm a bit of spud when it comes to coputers, how do you drop the pics in, tried to include a wheel pic.

Cheers

well if you have money take both so you have some rims for summer!!! Personally a like the first one ( i dont know if that are your old rims ), the second rims seems old rims like for Targa...

I think is always good to have some summer tyres with more grip and more top speed!! but it depends of the duration of your summer swissboy!!!

I like the GT3 ones much more, the Techart ones look strange (heavy) ...

edit: 6:0 for the GT3 ones

IMO a 911 need some "light" wheels like the 360CS ones and not these massive offroad rims

The Techarts look small and bulky, really not befitting the sleek 911 in my opinion. The GT3 wheels look great.

blackenzo 08-22-2006 07:25 AM

definetely the gt3 mk1 wheels it still has the gt3 look to it then still

Skaala 08-22-2006 07:31 AM

absolutely the gt3 rims... techart looks old and wierd

I vote for the GT3 wheels too.. They just look like they belong on that car..

And you wont have to worry bout swapping wheels for the winter.

Who voted for the Techart and is afraid to post a comment

@pzgren -> you better not show up with the techart rims in this forum

The GT3 wheels are one of the best Porsche wheels ever.

On the other hand, if you want to go for another make I would obtain for the "Race Track" wheels by BBS.

Cheers

I am with most of the others: GT3 all the way. Anyway you went for the GT3 look, so you better keep going in the same direction ;)

ae86_16v 08-23-2006 09:47 AM

GT3 ones.

pzgren 08-25-2006 03:55 AM

nope, i will definitely not put any GT3 badges or anything else on that car. it's a carrera 2 and that's it! but i don't have a problem if you call that rice :D

and yes, it's impressive how much downforce you get with the whole stuff. if changing the angles on the wing you'll get more then 180kg more downforce above 150km/h. so it's not just the good locking thing

and yes, you could order the aerodynamic packet from porsche which included GT3 front bumper, sideskirts, rear wing and wings.

btw: i've ordered the GT3 wheels yesterday
thanx for your thoughts guys!
