When is the manual M5 coming out? I thought BMW was gonna produce it for the US market?

2007 M5 US ordering guide

New Options are as follows:

2MA - 6 Speed Manual

323 - Soft Close Doors

737 - Aluminum Trim is NOW the standard trim, no need to order it. Wood Trims are still the same and offered at No Cost.

776 - Alcantara Headliner is now offered as a seperate option. However, it will add the Full Merino Leather to the order X2xx/X3xx

785 - White Turn Signal Lights

There are no soft close doors or 6-Speed Manual offered on the M6 as of right now, probably because it is still "new" in the BMW world to introduce new options. These options will probably go onto the M6 line beginning with March Production.

they will, though im not sure when its coming out.Somehow i think that those car are aimed to different markets, the AMG its a extremely luxury car which got some serious torque and the M5 also got some reasonable confort and can also be used pretty well in a track, a seriously awesome sports saloon.
i would take the M5 anyday.

Huh, what's soft close doors?

I am surprise US DOT would allow White Turn Signals? I thought they always have to have a shade of yellow somewhere on the side of the car? Likewise for the back, there must be red.

Previous Sports Packaged cars had white signals but there was still a reflector of some sort. Does this mean that reflector would be taken out like Euro Specs?

Thanks mate, interesting to see that the M5 is more accelerative but that they finally take the E63. I wonder what are the complaints about the SMG :?:

Now that BMW has given in, they need to convince AMG to put a 6spd manual in their cars and we'd really be cooking with gas! :P

If I recalled correctly, they always intended to have a 6 Speed available for the US market.

old AMG went 4.7 or so 0 to 100 and the new one with 38 more hp goes 0.2 sec slower :(
I hoped it will be faster than 4.9 or 4.7. And 0-200 its 2 secs slower. But it take the AMG.

prolly, though the M5 have some sort of led light in the front lights right in the corner of it, maybe that counts as something.

and i dont really know whats the use of that yellow shade in the front light, for me it was more of a astetic aspect of the car. :roll:
