Fucking insane quality... I can't wait until I can finally afford a 20D, or something on par anyways
Great shots 8) |
The quality of the pics is fantastic, i like them. Thanks for sharing :)

Great shots!
A friend of mine just bought a 100 f/2.8 Macro, can't wait to play around with it. :) |
Thanks guys; I've been using this lens for a year and have been perfecting my technique during that time. It's really difficult working at such high magnification as the Depth of Field is very small, even at an aperture of F14. My new Canon Macro ring flash really makes a difference :)
Here is my macro setup. Canon 20D + BG-E2 Grip Canon 100mm Macro lens Kenko Extension tubes (12, 20 & 36) Canon MR-14 Macro Ring Flash http://www.ph-digitalphotography-mot...R-14-flash.jpg |
:o beautiful!

Wow, those are really breathtaking pictures! Very good job, SDK2003!
|
Very nice. I think its really hard to take a picture of dragon fly. I tried once but they fly away all the time. And you have pretty awsome camera also.

SDK2003,
Those images are stunning mate !!! Congrats with the result !!! I'm interested in macro photography as well, so this makes that I'm into getting a macro lens. Nevertheless, this will be something for the future I geuss. 'cause I'm waiting till Nikon throw the new D3h on the market. They will bring it out around september/october ... they will reveil it on Photokina, a huge photo show in Aachen (germany). So, they may already send one to Belgium :D Great work man !!! Keep it up !!! CHeers |
Just gorgeous pictures man, :D

I do think that a ringlight creates a little flat lighting, good thing that you can individually adjust both half's of the Canon MR-14EX. Since the MR-14EX can function as a Master, have you tried using the 550EX with a softbox as a slave?
Oh, and out of curiosity, have you ever tried lighting a portrait with just the ringflash? :) |
Yeah it's possible to turn either left or right tubes off or use a higher ratio on one side to create sculptured lighting effects. I've tested the MR-14 with my 550EX as a slave last night and it works quite well – see photo of my 24-70L below.
I'm yet to test it on portraits but will do soon :) http://www.ph-digitalphotography-mot...4-70L-F2.8.jpg |
