Audi's new R-Zéro concept
couldn't find it on JW so far
just came across this concept car from AUDI R-Zéro the design was done by the Design School ISD France 4 electric engines (placed wheel hub) powered by Lithium batteries. 1092hp, 460km/h vmax. 0-100 in 3sec, 2.2tons http://images6.theimagehosting.com/1.c9e.jpghttp://images6.theimagehosting.com/2.a7f.jpg http://images6.theimagehosting.com/3.43a.jpghttp://images6.theimagehosting.com/4.14b.jpg http://images6.theimagehosting.com/5.522.jpghttp://images6.theimagehosting.com/6.d0d.jpg http://images6.theimagehosting.com/7.bab.jpghttp://images6.theimagehosting.com/8.369.jpg IMO this AudiTT-Veyron-mix will never reach these figures  dream on ... with 92 more horspower, they will never manage to be 60km/h faster than the veyron ... |

Interesting... But thats just it.

meh.. 350 Z meets Veyron for the loose!

Audi is not in the habit of making claims without backing them up, perhaps best ilustrated by the whole Veyron issue. Based on the publicity Veyron and the R10 have created, and the whole "vorsprung durch thechnik" thing, I bet Audi is looking into builiding this just for the hell of it (i.e. the publicity and halo effect) I bet Audi would love to smack Ferrari and Koenigsegg in their faces with an environmentally friendly yet vastly superior-performing electric car.
Go Audi, let's revive the electric car as a prestige item 8) |

I thought I read something about the McLaren F1 could do 400km/h with just 200 more hp. Bringing it to the 800's. So a car designed to go 460 would be easy. You forget the the Veyron didn't want to go that fast. But then again 285mph compaired to 253mph... is a BIG difference. The electric motors would help a lot. If you could get the battery's to last long enough to get to top speed. lol. It could be done. I love how it looks. I wonder what will become of it. |
