The reviews I've read tell the difference... weird. |
Guys, Just_me has already explained how the Turbo's time can be that slow. A burned-out clutch from journalist testing can easily explain that. Also, from what I'm hearing, that Turbo didn't have the optional LSD which would certainly make it a bit quicker on the road course.
But yes, the Z06's time is also slow. Some Z06 times done by other Euro publications for comparison: AMS 0-100: 4.0 0-200: 11.9 0-400m: 11.8 Sport Auto 0-100: 4.0 0-200: 12.0 Auto Bild 0-100: 4.2 0-200: 12.1 0-402.34m: 11.96 Automobilismo 0-100: 4.09 0-150: 6.84 0-400m: 11.04 @ 200.90 (typo?!) The Z06 and Ford GT have beaten the SRT-10 Viper coupe in at least 3 head to head track tests (Automobile Magazine, C&D, R&T, edmunds), and yet here the Viper convertible beats them both. That F430 is pretty quick. About .5 second quicker than QR's previous test from 100-200 (and that one was quick!). With a 1:17.373 at Vairano, this one not only knocks off 1.9 seconds from its previous test, but also beats the Enzo's 1:17.448 and is only .024 second off the CGT's time. |
