That's my favourite of the lot but I guess we won't see a victory like this in every magazine :roll:

Just shows what a difference 4WD makes in the accelerations tests (The 997TT has 10-30BHp less than the rivals). The reuslts don't really surprise me, the F430 was always the winner. I wonder if the tested Ferrari was equaipped with the optional carbon ceramic brakes, because it's lost that round to the Porsche.

^^^ Huh? I always thought AWD hurts acceleration from a standstill because you cant floor the engine. i think the porsche accelerates so well because its so light weight and its designed so well (use the power they have more effectively).

The 997 is infact the heaviest out of that bunch, at just under 1600 kg's.

Exactly because the 997 Turbo it's a 4WD it should be faster in the accelerations. Just like the 996 Turbo against the 360 Modena.

Are those Corsa tyres stock or after market instns? Doesn't the F430 come with GoodYear RunFlats stock?

Hopefully those results show people exactly how close these cars - and that on any given day, any car/driver combo could come out on top.

Impressive times, although the Z06 seems a bit slow, especially compared to what some American tests have gotten (like 1/2sec slower).

It hurts acceleration from a standstill if you own the car...and you don't want to blow out the clutch, or the transmission, or a drive shaft or something...so you ease in the power at the start. ;) But, if you don't care about any of that and just drop the clutch, then AWD definitely helps, you have basically twice as much traction, so you can put the power down a lot more effectively.

I am sure the F360 shipped with GoodYear, I know the F50 did... I would not be surprised if the F430 didn't ship with GoodYear either.

And indeed the Z06 seems slower than in other tests while the F430 is maybe a bit faster than I expected. But it was as fast in R&T and C&D tests if I am correct ...

Top Gear reviewed F430 and it said CS of 360 tires were better therefore performing better round their track. Cant remember exactly what brand either of them was, but those still curious can play the episode and remember better.

I know your the corvette king around here and you do not like anyone talking trash about it. I love ferrari and what not but, this statement is the correct statement when it comes to comparing the performance of the cars. Any car could win on any given day with any given driver. This is where i think the argument should stop between putting down american cars and praising european cars, because it ALL depends.

Didn't Ferrari use Good Year tyres while it was using them in F1? Now I'm pretty sure their cars come standard with Bridgestone because of their connection in F1.

Even who won or not, I'd choose between the 997TT and the 430... and the gallardo! It's a close call :)
