The Z06 is not european so it must suck *evo spoiler*

I've have found the results of the evo Fast Club test and the Corvette is not slow , but if you compare it against the Gallardo the result is disappointing.

The Corvette is faster in a straight line:

2.Corvette ZO6
0-30: 2.09, 0-60: 4.17, 0-100: 8.94, reaction time: 0.79, 100-0: 4.22
total time: 13.95

3.Lamborghini Gallardo
0-30: 1.65 0-60: 4.34, 0-100: 9.42, reaction time: 0.67, 100-0: 4.15
total time: 14.24

But when they go to the Bedford Autodrome things change....

2.Lamborghini Gallardo: 0.973G, 116.9mph, 1:22.80

4.Corvette ZO6: 0.982G, 118.1mph, 1:24.45

The Z06 sets a higher maximum speed so I wonder where the Gallardo is faster.... :D

EDIT: **The whole results**:

corner's ;) ...
afterall its 4wd :P

AlienDB7 04-19-2006 04:08 AM

Looks like Gallardo has better brakes and certainly AWD helps in the corners

RAMMIUS 04-19-2006 07:32 AM

Well well , what do you know , a little bit slow that Z06 isn`t it ?

And I`am looking only at straight line figures

So RC, do you still think that it`s faster than an F430 ??

ViperASR 04-19-2006 08:32 AM

4wd pulls the gallardo out of the corners much faster and with less of a fuss. With all the power that these cars have, you need to be gentle getting back into the throttle with rear-wheel drive.

Saw a new Zo6 the other day, I really dont like corvettes, but I must say, for the money these are a helluva value, and they look pretty nice too.

gangajas 04-19-2006 09:32 AM

Who has changed the title of the topic????

"Z06 is as fast around a track as ever"

It's your topic/thread - you must have.

Besides - all that test proves is how much it comes down to driver... look at some of those reaction times... did they recruit 70 year olds from the local old age home to drive the cars?

Oh - and so here we have a tired press test car that has been beaten on by many goobers and it is "slower" than your precious piece of italian - sorry, I mean german, junk. :)

Actually - all this proves is that any twit can drive a 4wd electro-everything Gaylordo and "look" like they know what they are doing - but the no-electrionics MANUAL stick shift Z car actually requires a little driver skill to pilot around tracks.

Oh - and another thing, all of a sudden, EVERYONE - including Evo is suddenly testing the Z06 vs everything else, because now at last they realize the car is as good as anything to come out of europe... :P

It's just a pity that the truth had not sunk in to the eurocrats think skulls 5 years ago, when the C5 Z was proving on race tracks and in car tests that is wa the equal of the then new eurocars... ;)

Must really suck to know that a "billy bob" car that retails for the same price as a mid-size sedan actually kicks arse left rihght and center.

Boy, the truth must hurt so bad... because if it didn't you, and Evo wouldn't be holding such tests which actually PROVE just how good the C6 Z is... ;)

But don't worry - you go on hero-worshipping all the unobtaiably expensive dream-cars youdo - all the while driving a beat-up Yugo...

I and amny others will choose to drive the only affordable super-car the world has ever seen... and while we live our normal live in suburbia, talkign the kid to school grocery shopping and otherwise eaking out a meager existance - we are able to daily drive cars with perfromance potential of the top 1% of automobiles.

That's right - for the price of yearly maintenance on one of your dream cars, we actually drive cars with those perfomance numbers... you guiys bench-race and compare pin-up pictures in the locker rooms... ;) :P

Dream on boys - one day you will realize that super-car performance is not just for the rich and famous or the silver-son raised... any hick redneck with a couple thou to spare can have suoercar go fast numbers under their right foot.

:)

Oh - and what was the Nurburgring time for the gaylordo again? And when are YOU going to buy you 0-60 is 4s, 180mph+ , 12s 1/4 mile daily driver?

Oh - that's right - you will probably never drive one because you are too proud and foolish to suck it up and buy the GSXR1000 of cars...

Sure the Ducati 999 is "rare and poserlishous" - it is also no faster than the Gixxer1000's that hang out at the pub... and for every Duc 999 on the road, there are 1000 Gixxer1000's - each and everyone capable of kicking that Duc to the curb and being enjoyed by regualr Joes.. :P ;)

And let's face it - you're just a regular Joe... so give up the pointless Italian Super-Car dream buba... ;)

RAMMIUS 04-19-2006 10:24 AM

Man Rc you`re so predictable

What loss?

Last time out you all claimed one set of test results could not be used as a benchmark.

Seems you folks are the fanboys... with a set of rules to always show the Gaylordo and Fag-Car are on top.. then another set of rules to make sure anything that could best them are kept at the bottom.

:)

I have never claimed either model of the Z06 to be the be all and end all of anything - simply stated it is one of the top 1% vehicles ever produced.. and it happens to be cheap enough for anyone to buy.

It must be terrible to have all your unobtainable dream-cars no longer be on such pedestals anymore.

Let'es see now - we only have what's it about 8 members of the entire JW who are multiple ultra expensive super-car owners... and they are the only ones you never actually see act all fanboy about the Lambos, Porsches or Ferraris....

That must tell you something right there..

Until you actually jump behind the wheel of cars at this level of performance all you are doing is bench racing and Play Station racing and the truth (whether you choose to accept it or not) is that the performance is so close, the day/driver/condition will determine the "winner" - and that all these comparative tests are for the benefit of the poor slobs who DON'T have Labmbo's, Porsches or ferraris... :P Not for the benefit of those that do... ;)

Anyway - enough bench racing, a bunch of us car nts are actually going to be driving our cars this weekend - you are welcome to join us... :P

Minacious 04-19-2006 12:01 PM

If anyone can look at those results and not realize that it is the driver, that's pretty sad.

But remember, it's like taking someone and showing them the blistering pace an R1 or Gixxer1000 can set at a track, and having them answer.. "Yeah but it's not a Ducati..."... ;) :P hehe

You know - if a bike is not Italian it's just cheap Jap-Crap? :P hehe

DeMoN 04-19-2006 12:14 PM

C'mon RC you know that Italians include the Badge price. Just bcuz its a Lambo, they have the "right" to make the price heigher. THe money you pay for one of those such cars isnt performance alone. You pay for the high-class leather, materials, etc. The Z06 pricetag mostly goes on the performance side. You and I, both know that the Corvettes' interior sux. While the performance may be little behind the Gallardo, if you compare the rest, you'll see where the price difference lays. I know that much of it simply is the name, but that doesnt take away from the fact that Lambo use better brakes, leather, metals, etc.

If anything, I think the Gallardo has been driven more, because it is more expensive and more rare, and whenever someone got the chance they drove it.

I'm not disagreeing that the Z06 is not a bargain for the money, but when you say that the conditions could have been better and the drivers could have been quicker, the result of the test would change for both cars for the better, no matter if the Gallardo has 4wd to help the driver or might require less skill as you say.

dutchmasterflex 04-19-2006 12:55 PM

Put the Gallardo and Z06 on the Nurburgring with Hans Stuck or Rohrl at the wheel and the Z06 will blow the doors of the Gallardo.

The Gallardo is also much easier to drive than a Z06...

You can't prove that

That is a virtue of the car

P.S.: I won't bother writing the original title again (Who has changed the title this time?), but I don't understand this kind of childish reaction.
