tech question about LP640

In geneva, nobody was able to explain me the difference of the air-intake/radiator/cooling devices on both sides of the LP640.

Thanks kld for the photos

Anyone ?

aerodynamics ....
the intake take the air to the cooling system .... radiators or intercoolers or whatever is inside ... the little opening on the back is for the air to flow stremlined over the rear wheel ..so that air from between the rims dont disturb the air comming from the front at highspeed .. thus giving stablity and it also increases some speed :) its the same thing on both sides .. but onthe right side ... they put a whole radiator so no hot air gets into the engine bay :)
hope you understand

I'm think because more air in the brakes and better aerodynamics too, I'm think

yes .. the air is directed to both air coolers(radiatos and all) as well as the discs ... :)

I don't think you guys understood the question, most people know what the ducts are used for.

If you look carefully at the pics you'll notice the left and right ducts look different to each other.....the question is why are they different?

saadie 03-17-2006 07:31 AM

^^ already explained in the first post :P

the one on the left is probably an oil cooler 'radiator' .... when the air passes it ... the temp of the air gets really high .. soo they just had an innovative idea and put on the side so that hot air dosnt go in the engine bay to keep the temperature stabalized ...

Thanks dingo :D, you read carefully enough

@ Julius:
Thanks, I was thinking of something like this, one can clearly see a radiator on the left ... now, question is why only one and not symmetric -and what exactly is it for ...

I believe the show car is just a demo and the production version will have slight changes. As for the intakes I believe the production model will have symmetrical side intakes.

info taken from lambocars.com
the thing on the left is an oil cooler ...^^

Thanks mate

any time :)

ok .. i just read my first post .... and its a bit mixed up .... sorry about that

When i first saw the pics of the lp640, I didn't even realize the intakes were different on both sides, but now I know why :) thanx Julius
