9FF GT1 to have a tough competitor

Made by another German tuner. Sportec.

Sportec SPR1 - 800+bhp flat-6, 0-100km/h in 3s, 0-200km/h in 8.7s, top speed above 380km/h

I'll wait for a proper test before I believe these figures. So many tuners talk the talk..

380km/h + isn't that a little to optimistic?

Vansquish 02-21-2006 05:24 PM

Looks like it could be a pretty exciting car. I don't doubt that it may well achieve 380kph with that kind of output either. The 911 is already reasonably slippery from an aerodynamic standpoint and with 800bhp (assuming it hits that target output) I should think that it could get to 230+mph.

Except for the fact that it's a photoshop and I like the standard 993 GT1 much better than the 996 GT1 (I think it has a sort of brutal sex-appeal that the 996 GT1 lacks).

LOL no worries :-)

The 993 GT2 is still something I'd have over its 996 equivalent. Air-cooled it may be, but all the better to hear that induction rasp, and the car was so much more beautiful but pugnacious. I really don't think I'd miss that extra 12bhp that much either in truth.
