Audi R8 Updates
 

The Audi R8 only got the green light a few months ago (see report), but things are already moving along quickly. AutoExpress has a new report on the car, which it says will be show this fall at the Paris Motor Show, and will go on sale in early 2007. Not only will the car go on sale sooner than you might expect, it will also cost less. The U.K.-based magazine says the R8 will cost £70,000 in Britain, which compares to about $90,000 in the U.S. The interior is said to take inspiration from the TT Shooting Brake Concept. A 450 hp 5.0-litre V10 powerplant coupled with a DSG transmission will push the car to 60 mph in four seconds, with a top speed of 200 mph. Lastly, the car is rumored to get the Roadjet Concept's Magnetic Ride suspension, which rapidly adjusts thanks to a magnetic fluid that changes thickness when a current is applied.

Several of these informations are well known since a couple of months. But forget about a 450hp V10 5.0L engine, Audi will never use a detuned V10 5.0L Lambo Gallardo engine for their cars, they will use their own V10 FSI 5.2L of +500hp for optional engine. The stock engine will be the V8 FSI 4.2L of 420hp. :wink: I don't trust AutoExpress, Don't forget guys that AutoExpress was convinced the Audi B7 RS4 will have a V8 4.2L Biturbo engine. Yeah right AutoExpress...:roll:
