Bought a Nikon D50, First Pics
I finally got my camera this weekend...because of logistics it'd been sitting at my house for about two weeks waiting for me! :o
It's a great camera, I really like it, not heavy, easy to use, such a set up in the actual picture-taking side from the point-and-shoot I had been using. The picture quality is excellent as well, if not really a huge increase from the point-and-shoot I was using...but only an increase of 1megapixel or so from that camera... In the first day I took over 200 pictures haha, the SLR really encourages you to snap away like mad! :P I'm still learning how to use all the settings, but I managed a few decent pictures. The box: :D http://i1.tinypic.com/nd3hu8.jpg Here are some of my good ones: http://i1.tinypic.com/nd3ihj.jpg http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/196...5amg3pk.th.jpg http://i1.tinypic.com/nd9e7k.jpg http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/1051/tree5ld.th.jpg http://i1.tinypic.com/nda2ac.jpg http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/1...tain0ar.th.jpg http://img79.imageshack.us/img79/2830/dsc00433gt.th.jpg http://img79.imageshack.us/img79/100...pole9ao.th.jpg http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/7038/880jf.th.jpg I think this pic shows how detailed the pics the D50 takes are, first the shot at full size, but down to normal res: http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/4614/orig9ch.th.jpg 100% crop http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/7438/1007sm.th.jpg 8) More pics to come in the "What You Saw Today". |
Very nice pics! Especially for a stock lense, the quality seems top very good!
thanks for the SLK55 ;) |
Congratulations on your purchase, it's always nice to hear about people enjoying their new DSLR's.
|
Congrats :) Nice SLK, and from the tree photo, the stock lens is supirsingly OK (more so than Canon's stock lens)
|
I can't wait to jump on the D50 band wagon :)
Still getting familiar using a SLR and already taking some great shots! I should be posting a similar topic in the near future.. ;) |
Thanks for the replies, I figured you guys would enjoy the SLK55 AMG pic too...;)
dutchmasterflex : If you haven't already, you might want to check out http://www.dpreview.com/, they have excellent reviews of many different cameras on there, including a really in-depth one of the D50...needless to say I highly recommend the camera, and from my pics you can at least get an idea of the picture quality. |
Does the D50 have a 0.2 second start up time like the D70?

If you dont mind me askin, how much did you pick up your kit for? |
Around $670 for the D50, 18-55mm Nikkor Lens, and a 512mb SD card, and free shipping. If you look around enough, or wait you might find it cheaper, who knows.
|
That's a pretty damn good price considering you got the a 512mb SD card and free shipping.. I actually just won an auction on ebay for the same 18-55mm lens kit for $642.. The seller is in my area too, so hopefully all goes well and I can pick up my new baby :)

Sweeet dude! Can't wait to see your first pics, did you get a 512mb card?
Here's a couple more: http://i1.tinypic.com/nf3drd.jpg http://i1.tinypic.com/nf3ebt.jpg |
wow nice shots! I like the backlit tree silouette..
I picked up sandisk ultra II 512mb SD last night thinking I would be able to pick up my camera yesturday. Seems like im gonna have trouble getting the seller to meet up in person... he/she wants me to make the payment online and then mail the camera to me even though I am only 5 minutes away! |
