Euro-R Cb7

this is my friends Cb7 (1992 accord ex). from cb7tuner.com , he doesn't own the site anymore but i thought that his car is worthy of Jabbas. its a true sleeper. he has beating Evos, STIs, BMWs etc. even hung with vipers.

Impressive, but beating Evo's and Sti's with a H22 that has basic bolt-ons? I think not.

gigdy 02-01-2006 01:39 AM

Great looking car, but if its "hanging" with vipers i think were gonna need some proof.

Honda_PoD 02-01-2006 02:52 AM

well its the topend that he gets them. the EVO i was there in my truck and witnessed that. the STIs and viper i am not sure. but the flywheel and clutch and LSD with the ECU tuning is putting him in the low 14s in the 1/4 mile. but like i said and i know i will get some lip from this....but its all up in VTEC. yes i know....but the ecu is set to have VTEC kick in almost a full 2,000 rpm sooner (i.e. 4200 vs 6200). Yeah i will try to have him get online here and talk about it. here is a video

definitely one of the nicest '87 Accord's on the street today.. I wouldnt doubt its quickness, thing must be blast driving considering the weight and power..

Honda_PoD 02-01-2006 01:37 PM

^^ its a '92 :) but yes i have driven it....all i can say is wow. its a lot faster then i would think. I always ask him, what have you done that i don't know about.... he always replys...nothing  but yes its power is all topend.

Low 14's?

I don't think I know of a Viper that could run a "low 14" - even if the 1/4 mile was run in reverse with the parking brake on... ;)

Bring that "VTEC" crap out to Houston...

I'll run him... :P

Really?

So how heavy is his car?

What power is it putting down?

I call 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000% BS on this entire post.

From a 70mph roll?

That would be my 2nd gear - at about 5000rpm.. where I am putting about 400rwhp down.. I take it this VTEC is putting 400hp++ to the front wheels - what a joke ;)

Powertrain Options and Availability
Honda released its larger Accord with a larger engine to match. Gone for good are Accords with carburetors. Beginning in 1990, a 125-horsepower 2.2-liter engine with multi-point fuel injection powers both base DX and mid-level LX models, while a 130-horsepower unit comes in the EX flagship model. A dual exhaust manifold accounts for the modest power boost. Torque rises as well, from 137 pound-feet to 142 pound-feet. Two new transmissions join the powertrain team, a revised 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic with programmed upshift points that deliver either "normal" or "sport" performance characteristics. Finally, a stronger 140-horsepower 2.2-liter engine makes its way into the 1991-93 Accord flagship models (SE/EX), thanks to a new dual-stage intake manifold.
I highlighted the important info for yoiu...

How much lighter is the car than 2738lbs now?

How much more power/torque than 130-horsepower & 137 pound-feet does it put down now.

I am all for "sleepers"... but a 2800lb sedan/coupe with about 220hp to the crank (if you get 100hp from those mods) will not "hang with Vipers"... or "Vettes" for that matter.. ;)

A Neon turbo will blow that car into the weeds hehe

P.S. 220 crank HP is about 190fwhp... so unless your buddies car has about 480hp to the crank, to deliver about 400fwhp it is not even going to get through the burnout tyre smoke from a Viper before the Snake is already past the 1/4 mile mark... :P

Honda_PoD 02-01-2006 08:20 PM

ok RC45, well first off powerband. second weight while at 70mph is a lot less drag on the engine. and yes he has pulled on EVOs at those speeds. the viper i wasn't there i am not sure, he said that he hung with him. I am not sure what the means.... :| But i do know that the Euro R spec h22 has a better compression ratio, so in turn it handles mods a little better. But the drivetrain mods are really the way he is getting more of the 230ish hp to the ground. But i am not going to fight back and forth because i know you will pull all kind of numbers and blah blah. But until you too are side by side at 70 mph we wont know.

230ish to the ground?

OK - you can have 230ish... on a 2700lb car will not "roll from 70" against anyone ;)

Besides - we all know what "230ish tto the ground" without a dyno chart means... about 180 to the crank.. ;)

JW is a No Bullshit Zone..

So - Pics or STFU :)

Stikz 02-01-2006 09:37 PM

and its front wheel drive, 230 at the front in a lightened car, i'd hate to see the torque steer on that sob, its bad enough in my s40. I hate to say this, but its pretty obvious that RC is right.

Christ, ever Honda owner and their mom has Rota Slipstream's.....

Close?

Considering a 911 996TT would put about 10 bus lengths on that car - and I can put about 1 bus length on a 996TT - if you call 11 bus lengths close, then yes it would be close..

ANd about top end, does this VTEC run all the way to 175mph when it "runs with Vipers"? ;)
