New Volvo S80

Volvo will soon release the info about the new S80 which will be presented to the public on the Geneva motorshow and be launched in June, but I'll post some previews already:

Following engines will be available:
  • 315 hp (440 Nm) V8 with AWD
  • new 235 hp (300 Nm) 3.2 6L
  • 200 hp (315 Nm) 2.5 T5
  • 163 hp or 185 hp (400 Nm) D5
  • later there prolly also will be two turbo-ed versions of the new 3.2 6L available (285 hp / 400 Nm and 350 hp / 450 Nm), both standard with AWD.

Some of the new features for this car:
  • Personal Car Communicator
  • Collision warning and brake support
  • 4C chassis (but that was already available in the facelifted current S80)

Volvo is one of the most boring looking car in that price range. Now that most of the car manufatures caught up in the safety department.....I really don't see how they can turn things around

I agree ^^^

I recently drove a S60R and although it has 300 hp, it's still quite boring. Just not an involving experience to drive these cars.

It looks like the copied the rear-side profile of the 7 series (2nd and 4th photo from the top) if you look at the way the C-pillar was done.

Blimey. Not only is boring, but the designer had no originality as well. Horrid car.

hm, hate to be the spoilsport but I actually like the car. Its not particularly great, but I think it is a nice car, and I really like the design of the recent volvos.

Good thing they made AWD standard for those hi-po versions. At first glance I thought they were insane trying to put that much power through the front wheels :?

I know there are several grandfathers who will appreciate this new S80 model. :P

More like BMW copied that from the current S80.

It ain`t a bad looking car IMO

Very sobre design :)

I actually like this quite a lot. It's not a huge styling departure for Volvo, but it's significantly sleeker, more elegant and stylish than the original S80 from the outside. The interior, on the other hand, already looks dated and will probably continue to look dated even after the car goes on sale.

i too like the design, its more nicer than the design before, it still looks a bit boaring

But 350 HP an AWD will fix the problem, and low price, 8)
