Alpina B7 Coming to US

One thing I learn was that apparently all Alpinas are built at BMW's own factories. So there is a bit of extra incentive to buy a B car.

yes they are build in the bmw factory, but they are totally different car.

i think the bmw has always exported only M in the US, and not so much of alpinas

Exactly, this will be their first car here. . . well unless you cound the 2003 Z8, that was officially an Alpina car too.

Alpina cars are allways built with practicality in mind although their prices might not reflect it. I always prefer alpinas over M cars. The B5 over the M5 for example. If only they priced their cars lower and get rid of that stupid pinstripe (is that what they called it nowdays?)

Read it in this week's AutoWeek magazine. Let me see if I could find the link. It was one of the news articles, they actually tested the car already.

Great news! The 7-series is a pretty awesome ride, and i'm sure the B7 will be even better. But I would take a S55 over it anyday.

I always thought of Alpina as an aftermarket tuner, but are they a more in-house tuner if it's on BMW grounds? Or do they just have special priority with BMW like RUF with Porsche?

Well Alpinas are built on the same manufacturing plants as the regular production cars. So I don't know how that compares to RUF.
