Just came across this on the 5th Gear site:

Researchers wanted
We're expanding the Fifth Gear production team and are looking for new Researchers to join our production team. We want people, who love cars, have an opinion about them and who can communicate that passion. To apply send your CV and on an A4 sheet outline three stories you'd like see to:

Researcher? What that entail - ringing people up and begging them to let 5th Gear thrash their cars? ;)

Yes it is mentioned at the end of tonight's programme. I think it's more a behind the scenes researcher than a presenter.
