«After the launch of the new 997 last year, the Swabian sports car maker Porsche is about to extend the model range next year by another new model, the GT3. It is scheduled to be released in May 2006.

Prototypes of the GT3 are currently being tested worldwide, but here are two pictures – taken near Porsche’s home base in Stuttgart - showing the new model for the first time without disguise in full showroom trim.

The new GT3 can be recognized by the big air intakes in the front skirt and the big rear wing. The super sports car is expected to be powered by a 3,8 litre engine performing next to 400 HP. It is equipped furthermore with a newly developed six speed transmission.

Like before, Porsche is again making a “Cup” race version of the new model.»

Great find the pics are new to me. Looks as great as the new RUF RT12! This 911 is really the best looking of them all IMO.

^^^ Yup, have to agree. GT3 Porsche's are what the company is all about, and this one is absolutely stunning.

If only Ferrari would remember their roots and make some decent street cars like this ;)

Nice, I like the rear wing shape looks more like 1gen GT3 than ugly 2gen GT3 wing :P

Far as I know, the 360 CS is exactly this, only with an even more extreme apporach then Porsche has done. Not to mention, it doesnt look exactly like every other street Ferrari made before it.

Ferrari doesn't stray too far from there roots. Lamborghini, however, has about as much nostalgia as a Honda currently.

NOt at all the 360CS was a pointless attempt at trying to do the same thing.. ;)

The CS is so fragile and sensitive - you couldn't hope to do anything except pose at opera valet parking lot with it... ;)

After all, the 360CS barely lapped the Nurburgring quicker than other companie's regular road cars... ;)

While the GT3 and GT2 are way more than the regualr 911, and are usable in the real world as well - and win races in series other than one-make Ferrari Challange series races... :P ;)

obviously Porsche's are king on the 'Ring because they are designed for that track.. much like how racing teams tune and adjust the settings of their cars to the track that they're currently running on..

Rear design of it ok but I don't like its front bumper. IMO Front design of 996 GT3 is better than that.

Looking great, never thought I'd like any 911 better than the 993 but the 997 is getting there. :D

can you back that up with something?

I'm not sure if you recall but we had a CS out in Alice Springs in August and it managed to run at 250kmh+ (max of 308kmh) for 4-5 days with no problems at all......how can you explain that if all its good for is posing?
