Blimey, interesting claims. Will be good to see how well it stands up in every day life!

 damn, if this actually work could be great!

Re: Nissan to debut scratch repairing paint
After three years all of the scratches reappear. Congratulations your f'ed!
^ na.. cause you'll sell the car after 2 and a half year.. so the new owner is fucked ;)
i'll bet the M3 guy wishes BMW had that
^lol i'm sure the paint is only one of many headaches that guy has cleaning that car up.
but on topic of the paint. pure genius. i assume thought they are offering some sort of plan to either "repaint" or offer a means of getting a traditional paint job afterwards. though having the paint assume a normal paintjob after its rebuilding properties fade would be the best option for both parties. |
Is the three years life of the paint a coincidence with the warranty period? If it really does work, it'll be great news... certainly save lots of time waxing or polishing the car :D
Good God I wish I had this on my Nissan today. Somebody gave me the worst door-ding in history taking off a good inch of paint.
this isnt exaclty a self repairing paint... but if it were, it would have to be a polymer based paint for self-reparing capabilities... really exotic stuff, and very interesting; ive seen tests performed where polymers fix themselves after clean breaks, and scratches.
Damn, very cool technology. Should be interesting to see how it really works. And yeah, what happens when the 3 years is up, could you get another layer?
If those claims turn out not to be fallacious, I'm going to have to repaint my car...goddamned black paint.
Dont mercedes have this technology already back in 2003?

One is scratch resistant the other repairs scratches. A little different. The mercedes is hard to scratch. The Nissan it says covers up the scratch after up to a week.
