Wiesmann GT with BMW V10??

I just read this on www.autoweek.nl. I babelfished it to make it more readable for the non dutchies.

Wiesmann is negotiating with BMW concerning V10 of the BMW M5. This will get an accommodation in the GT. Also to come a clubSport version. The Wiesmann GT are provided with of BMW originating 4,8-liter V8 with 367 pk.

I saw that car at MPH05 (Clarkson's motor show) and it's quite a unique looking car. Not beautiful, but definitely full of character. It would look pretty wicked at the stop lights, because nothing else looks like it.

I also think the Wiesmann looks stunning and is very rare (i´ve never seen any Wiesmann on German streets so far) and this engine will make it even better.

I think every car manufacture needs to use the BMW V10 :)

Am i the only one that thinks they should have nevers strayed away from the M3's straight six? A perfect british retro design link with a perfect straight six, why ask for more. It's the feeling you get when you drive through the turns and the sound that goes along with it, and not just the acceleration. I'll honestly be disappointed if they do it!

I would love for a car maker to put the BMW V10 into a mid-engined lightweight but I guess this will be as close as it gets.

I do agree with you at some level. The balance with the straight six seems to be perfect and using a V10 could ruin it. However the Coupe is more stiffer and should be able to handle more power. I like the idea of a V10 more than the alternative, the 4.4 V8 with a compressor. Maybe they must wait for the V8 of the new M3, which I.M.O will be the perfect engine for this concept.

It's not just the fact that it'll be weighty with a V-10, but whats the purpose of having that much power in this lightweight car. And who has the right to put a V-10 in a British look-a-like car, it'snot right. The straight six in British cars is the perfect, and has heritage to it. Especially since the TVR's main engine is a straight 6. Speed isn't everything, but the feeling you get when you hear the engine and turn into the apex is everything.

i think the car looked a bit weird.. but from what i've seen on top gear.. the car is ridiculously fast.. and these guys are thinking of using an M5's engine?! its torque would probably shred the car
that wud be overdoing it i think..
