Picked up an SL55 AMG at the AMG factory!
 

Did about 400km in this car yestarday. Autobahn and curvy alpine roads :twisted: behind the wheel of course :)

We wen't to pick up this car yesterday all the way to the AMG factory in Germany.

I'll post up a report during the weekend with more pics of the car.

It's trully a beast. The engine sound is like thunder muxed with anger and a bit more thunder.

This car is not a production model. It was a test mule for AMG. Built in 2001 and it still has some cables sticking out by the passenger seat to log on with the computer and stuff. It's a one off and I just felt privileged by being able to drive it.

The thing is that my boss has connections by AMG (Wolf Zimmerman) and he got this car for free for testing purposes. My bosses friend here in slovenia is manufacturing ceramic brakes and we'll test these brakes on this car on the track.

AMG and especialy the SLR has problems witht the brakes and they offered the car.....

We got this car for a longer period of time and I hope I'll maybe be getting it for a day or two....

Anyway, I'll post more pics and a report later during the week.

Tomorrow I'm off to the European presentation of the new Impreza WRX STI in Italy.

Lucky indeed! Must be a killer cruiser the SL55! And we know the sound is intoxicating!

Hell, always exotic locations for new cars presentations. Where exactly in Italy? You'll be around here one day ;)

Awesome stuff, 400km behind the wheel of a ~500hp sounds like a lot of fun! :D

You really have a dream job for most of us, I'm just glad we have you around to share it with us. :wink:
