Zonda F the fastest car around Nordschleife
We would like to announce very honoured that our homologated version of the Pagani Zonda F (602hp) has achieved the RECORD OF NÜRBURGRING 2005. Although the bad weather conditions (it was rather cold), the cold asphalt and the late hour ( 08.00 pm) the homologated version of the Zonda F achieved the record.
We are very happy and very satisfacted, because the conditions of the circuit were not so favourable. You can find the incredible time in the German magazine "Sport Auto". http://www.vonbraun.se/index.taf?_fu...ureNoCache=787 No times but the rumour says 7.32,5 min but if its true CGT is still faster. |
hmmm sounds intresting, maybe theyre saying the record just for 2005, but if its as fast as the CGT then its impressive
|
This is not really the fastest then because, the Donkervoort made something like 7:19 ... But impressive performance anyway :D I love this car !! and the sound it made ....
|
^ for a production car (25 units a year I think)
I would love to see the time/driver vs. the time/driver of the CGT |
Even though, it's a fast lap for a non German car 8)
What was the M3 CSL time ??? :EDIT: I remember reading somewhere that an M3 CSL ( from AC Schnitzer I think ) did a faster lap than the Carrera GT. Maybe I was wrong  7:06 --- BMW M3 GTR, 24hrs, test session, Jörg Müller (2003) 7:18.1-- Donkervoort D8 RS (12/2004) 7:19 --- Radical SR3 Turbo (2003), >>> Link 7:20* -- Opel Astra DTM V8 Coupe, set-up for 24hrs race (sport auto 2003) *estimated 7:25 --- Alzen Motorsport Porsche 996, 24hrs race, Uwe Alzen 7:28 --- Porsche Carrera GT, Walther Röhrl, Autobild July 2004 >>> Link 7:32.4 -- Porsche Carrera GT, definitive time by Horst Von Saurma 7:32.5 - Gemballa Porsche GTR 600 EVO, Wolfgang Kaufmann (2001) >>> Link 7:36 --- Porsche Carrera GT, factory test driver Walther Röhrl (2002) 7:40* -- Porsche Carrera GT, *estimated time on cold and partially wet track (2003) 7:40 --- Mercedes Benz McLaren SLR, Klaus Ludwig, Autobild July 2004 >>> Link 7:42 --- Radical 1500 SR3 (2002) 7:43 --- TechArt GT Street (2001) 7:43 --- Porsche 996 911 GT3 RS, factory test driver Walter Rohrl, MOTOR Magazine 7:43.5 - Lamborghini Murcielago (Autocar magazine, 2002) 7:44 --- Pagani Zonda C12S (07/2003) 7:45 --- Gemballa Porsche GTR 600 (12/2000) 7:46 --- Porsche 996 GT2 7:46 --- SHK Porsche 993 GT2, 652 PS (1999) 7:47 --- Porsche 996 GT3 RS, 381PS (996) (2004) 7:49 --- Porsche 996 GT3 Cup 7:50 --- BMW E46 M3 CSL (08/2003) |

Sweet! I hope they can do even better with more favorable conditions. 8)

Since edo competotion posted a 7.15,9x about a week ago and these news were presented today, I'm going to be disappointed with anything slower than 7.15. Not that I can believe the improvement in time - 30s at this level is beyond substantial, its absolutely amazing. And to think they have an optional "Club Racing Kit" on top of this...
|
NO ferraris in that chart?

and they don't (ferrari) need to prove anything on the track anyways, if you tell a Yuppie that a Z06 is faster on a track they will still buy the ferrari :P track times are for real men, and real men don't wear pink shirts to meetings :P  |
Hey i wear pink shirts.. :P
|
Well, Ferrari mightn not go there to test their cars or pose a lap time, but how about some experienced ferrari driver?
|
i dont mean to burst the party... but to me 7:32.5 is pretty Damn impressive for a time around the nordschlife!!!!!!!!!!!
first, is got less power then the CGT... ok only slightly neglagably less power, but still less power. second, aero is re-thought, and is quite more potent then previous Zonda's, which aids in somewhere around 15 turns... and people who know much often say that that cars are faster because of aided speed in the faster turns vs. speed in slower turns. i STILL think the car is Ugly as sin, but i definately have some respect for it similarly to my respect to the Bugatti Veryon as an engineering FEAT. also, i think its one of the best sounding engines in existance, even though its still a Mercedes   8) |
