Honda CBR929RR for the weekend
 

Finally after some hours playing with it I am back home.. sadly not many pics.. first of all I was not really inspired. Bike pics aren't my stuff LOL. And second, it is a pain every time to park the bike, jump down, take the camera, remove the helmet, click click and so on :bah:

Anyway, two words about the bike.. :shock:
As some of you already know, I never really had very fast bikes. I had a big one, an Harley Dyna Glide, but despite the BIG engine and soundtrack, it isn't really a rocket (still plenty enough to have fine, and I'd still take it over the CBR).. so this was a total new world for me.
The bike isn't really as new as it seemed at first glance, it has 40'000 km and some scratches here and there, but still in very good shape.
The riding position is not bad (I am not a tall guy), but it's very tiresome for the arms if you are not trained.
The commands are simple and all in the perfect place.
The look is sexy, and in black I love it. I'd just dump all the red stuff and with a carbon look muffler it would be perfect :)

The performance? mindfuckingblowing sir!!!

Really really impressive! Just for the records (not wanting to endore reckless driving), I was trying to approach the red line earlier this evening.. 6th, 5th or 4th, forget it :D I don't know the max speed of this bike, but I guess it is somewhere near the 300 kmh.
I tried in 3rd, but I was already at around 160 km/h with just 6000 revs or something.
Tried again, in second this time.. and well, at around 9000 - 9500 rpm (red line around 11'500) I hit 190 km/h :shock: fuck me :D
I bet the sound from beside the road must be nice, but when you are on the bike as the bikers know, wind noise kinda ruins the pleasure..
Anyway, the way the bike can go from rest to 200 km/h in a few seconds is unbelivable :!:

And it handles like a charm, really really "easy" and it really feels totally under control. I even ended up doing a (scary :!: ) powerslide exiting a corner at low speed but with some gravel on the road which I didn't see obviously. powerslide and some tailfishing but still, even for an average biker like I am, not impossible to recover.

It's damn fun.. now it's dark and I can barely wait for tomorrow :D

And thanks for the kind words on the picture, actually I was there in front of the bike, wondering how the fuck you take pics of a bike, which angles suits it better, distance and so on... it was so weird LOL

Well where I rented this one they only have pretty recend models.. there are quite a few other places doing the same but I never really looked into them that much. I am sure that classis bikes for rent, like classic cars, are not as common though

if you plan on taking more pics of this bike try taking some from the front of the bike. low and too the side a bit.

like the forth pic but dont angle just go level with the bike and focus on the forks discs and make the headlights the dominator (so to speak) of the bike.

you can do the same for the back making the swingarm standout like the peice of it is.

once you get those two... you'll start to see the lines flow and eventually you'll start going mad with how beautiful it all comes together and eventually you'll have a book full of pics.

like a car a bike has a line its centered around. once you find that. your set.

I was considering this 929RR or the R1 when I was hunting for a superbike back in 2001.

In the end I decided to take the R1 for it's look and slightly better performance.

Nice bike experience! As for the pics, they really look superb considering your newbie skills for bike pics :D

When I was younger, I was considering buying myself a fast motorbike (though not a top of the line superbike like an R1 or Fireblade, that would be a bad idea considering my bike skills). But due to the fact quite some people I know got injured for life after a bike crash without them causing the accident and the fact I knew I would loose my driver's license within the first months driving the bike, I got scared of owning one. So I've never driven a fast bike in my life, but I know it must be a thrilling experience.

For the record, I still have my 50cc scooter I bought when I was in my teens. And I still keep using it for little distances to the city center. Even if it only reflects 1% of the thrills of riding a motorbike, it still is good fun.

Boys, today I got some heavy rain LOL. I was going to the mountain pass where we shoot the Porsche 997S to have some fun and take more pics and then heaven threw at me LOT of rain.. of course not having a leather suit, it wasn't funny :D

So I quick came back on the lake where my Lambo friend his, he had his Gallardo Le Mans outside, full of water droplets and I quickly took some pics of it with the 929.. I hope they turned out ok, I will find out later...

I still have some 200 km to cover before reaching the limit, I will go mountain passes hunting again tomorrow after a Ferrari meeting :D
