Monterey Historics 8/20 - Big ass post!
 

Captains Log dated 8/20 ... today is the day that Starship Enterprise (Pontiac Sunfire actually) is once again headed to Planet Monterey to see some beasts tear up the track again. It was at Laguna Seca - possibly the coolest track in US along with the old Watkins Glen circuit.

Chaparral and Alfa Romeo were the featured marques and a full contigent of cars were present

Needless to say I had a lot of fun seeing these magnificent cars in their repose and tearing around the track 8)

You are welcome guys. I was not sure how many people would be interested in Historic cars (other than Ferrari of course). Good to see many others share my passion for the golden oldies!

I took a bunch of pics at the Pebble Beach Concours as well ... I will try and post them up this week if I get some free time!

pretty sure its a fake, there was another silver gto w/o any shields like this one that was a fake. the one that i know is a fake was built in england, so im thinking whoever built it, built two of them...aswome pics :)...ill try to get mine up soon

The crowd at Pebble Beach were pretty unthinking - I mean you are in plain sight getting ready to take a pic when some man or woman wanders thru the middle of the scene and blocks off part of your shot. And no "I am sorry .. let me get out of your way"

My patience was really tested!

That is a 1956 Ferrari 500 MDTR #0622 :wink: I know this because it is one of our cars. We took that and the Porsche 906 #37 to the Historics. We also had two Cisitalias at Pebble, a convertible and a hardtop, a 330 LMB (gorgeous car!!) and we had a few others at auctions etc. We also brought a Porsche 959 back with us!!!! Fuck me that thing is fast!

I meant to make a post to see if anyone was going before I left but I ran out of time. I spent most of the time in The Racer's Shop vendor booth at both the Monterey Historics and the Concourso Italiano. All in all, a damn fun weekend. :D

Ill post my pics as soon as I get settled and unpacked. But I am glad you went, I wish I would have known ahead of time :oops:

Damn! I put a post up on Wed/Thu asking if anyone is going - I guess you must have missed it - we could have had a mini-JW get-together :)
