How To Buy Interstate ?
Can someone give me some pointers about buying a vehicle interstate?
What can I do so that I am not being scammed? How do you check the condition of the vehicle apart from what the seller tells you? How do you make sure the title is transfered? If you had done this before, what would you have done better? Would you pay extra for a same vehicle which is closer to you? and how much extra? thanks |
What vehicle? Where are you? Where is the vehicle? How much is the vehicle?
You check the condition of the vehicle. You transfer the title. I have travelled to the vehicle, inspected it myself, paid cash and brought it back with the clear title in hand - you couldn't improve much on the proper, safest way to do it. Pay extra for a local vehicle may not always be that much extra - afterall, you still have to get the out-of-town vehicle to shipped/delivered . Details - we need details. :) |
Never ever believe 100% what the seller tells you... I know it because I sold used cars
unless you have someone there in that state that knows about cars, I say you must travel to see the car and check the condition of the car and how much extra you should pay for a local vehicle is what you consider is right. Take a calculator or do some math to see if that car is convenient: how much money for gas, couple of sodas, meals, and TIME you spent going to that place Only once I traveled for a car, 2 hours to be precise. And I did it because I saved 1000usd including the bus tickets, gas, tolls, etc |
The vehicle in question is actually a motorcycle, a 2002 BMW F650 CS Scarver.
The usual price for this bike in Sydney (dealer) is about $7000, and the seller in Perth (private) want to sell for $5000. The return airfare would cost about $1000, transporting the bike back would cost $300. I really want this bike, but I am not sure if I am being scammed, and if to spend extra money for a peace of mind and 3 monthes warranty. |
Well - now that we know you are talking about Australia... pffft - who gives a crap... ;) :P
