you know the Maser Birdcage is there, and the MC12 is running the test run course too! I didnt see the Birdcage, but I already saw it at Geneva. Its great that you're all liking the pics so far :D My work colleague went too, and apart from meeting many of the customers from the Lotus stand, he told me this morning that a Subaru Impreza stuffed it into a tree on Friday too  i missed that  |
thanks for the pictures dude, guess the dbr9 was the biggest boom there
the nissan u asked about it a LM edition of the nissan R390, its a big car i don't know much about what did it mark on the sarthe track, the audi u asked about is a version of the LM Audi R8 which won the last LM titel and 3 other before the last year. the blue porsche u posted yeah it is famous actually very very famous, its called the porsche 917 and it was seen for the first time in the late 60s .. the F.I.A. modifies the regulations of the Sport category, allowing 5- litre powered vehicles. Porsche, which until that moment had been competing with itīs 904, 907 and 908 models, decides to design and build a new prototype that would make the most of the new regulations. It would be called 917, and it was a hero.. |
Amazing pictures of an amazing event, THANKS!!. It's a shame I couldn't go this year....
Was the rally-stage something special or nothing compair to the hillclimb? Quote:
edit: I just watched our pics of last year and one of my friends even took a picture of the card: http://img150.echo.cx/img150/6549/go...40393gq.th.jpg |
thanks for the info!
and yes, the DBR9 was great, I was surprised to see it when i was there, it looks so special! |
redbaron, you posted while i was typing my other reply :P
In answer to your question about the rally stage, I am passionate about rallying and the cars, and it was truely magnificant to see all the cars there, but the stage was a bit boring really, obviously watching the cars was good fun, but it was quite slow, if you go to a WRC you expect a 2 min wait between the top runners, and 1 min wait for the lower runners, but here it was like 5 minute wait or longer (although you see the car twice as it turns round and comes back), and because there is so much else to see you dont want to spend the time, so i just looked at the cars in the paddock instead, although its a really nice idea, and if you wanted to see 1 particular car in action, then its great |
^^
It's always fun to see the rally-oldies. Last year most of the former rallylegends were driving sideways on the hillclimb, like rallycars should to be driven. The drawback was 2 crashed rallycars (Kankunnen in his Celica and Wilson in his Focus). I hoped the rallystage would mean drifting cars on a forrest stage. But what I understand of your story, they were saving the material this year. Maybe the trees beside the stage slowed them down. Although it's great to see these animals in their natural environment. |
That's a really great show   All those legendary racing machines between new sports cars. :o :o
But..... the only Ferrari model was the F430 !?!? That's a shame...... don't they like Ferrari's or what ??? I loved those Skylines, specialy the first one 8) And what about that Peugeot 306R4, is it a rallycross car ?? I had never heard about it.... I'll be waiting for more pics of this amazing event in the next days  |

My only hope for my own Birdcage pics will be the upcoming Motorshow at Excel next year... or MPH05... hopefully they bring it. :( |
The 993 GT2 and Diablo SE30 are the best ones for me  , but all are great. :D
BTW, if you call that a 'lack of photo's' I'd love to see what you call plenty of pics. |
