Ohhhhh nice time for a stock car.... , don't worry i wont spoil it...

Sounds nice too, oohh man i love the new vette...wish they came to aussieland...

dingo 06-08-2005 04:20 AM

you like Vettes? You know that those shitty Holdens also use Chev engines right?

FPVPSI 06-08-2005 05:09 AM

^^ lol...i love Fords, but i'm no one-eyed Ford fan who thinks all Holden based cars are shit...

It's just that the vette is based on the one car (maybe its chassis is shared. i dunno), it ain't no commonhore, or falcon with 15 differnt variants....thats what i like in the vette, plus its bloody quick...

I sure hope you don't think that time is a defining number.

well hell its at a track he made the time with a good start off whats more defining than that? Are you calling it slow?

Minacious 06-08-2005 02:48 PM

The yellow one isn't a Z06, but a modded C6.

gogglibear, I'm not calling it slow, but I know for a fact that better times will be achieved.

yes but as everyone knows the Chevy 427 is nowhere near the power of the Ford 427 so don't think that its using an engine like a GT-40 or a Shelby Cobra. Isn't it a 7litre?

ohh yeah I know it would a chieve faster times but a regular person getting a hold of the car would probably run this time.

T-Bird 06-08-2005 05:12 PM

well an old Ford 427 made anywhere from 350-450 hp in Pushrod form not the over the counter optioned SOHC versions, the new V-10 427 makes 590hp, the Chevy LS7 427 7liter V8 makes anywhere from 500-600 in factory trim.

Oh and the new Ford GT only uses a 351ci block

EDIT: here are a few different 427 blocks for you to look at...

That track is located in Kentucky. I recognized the site. Don't know what the track elevation is but they are not at anything near sea-level.
