There are tons of opportunities to drive a F1 car around a race track? Maybe you should enlighten me since this is the first I've heard of it.

Look at it again, its not that its a racing school considering I know several racing instructors and have been to a few of them. Its what your driving. There can't be tonnes cause there arent tonnes of f1 cars in the world. Even ones from 1991.

Im guessing based on other articles on the school you get to drive one of 2 Arrows Ford-A20 or 3 AGS- Ford 2002/2003.

Demon, if your willing to drive you have a few options.

I personally like Panoz race school at road atlanta in atlanta.

Cost is about 200 a day if I recall, bring your own car.

Other option, in al.. Little taladega.. Technically a motorcycle track but a few times a year they open it to a open track school day. Lots of runoff, and perhaps a little less scary then road atlanta for the beginner.

Unfortunatley, both of these are a long way from driving someone elses car(which is harder to find but can be found in the midwest, Id love to do the lotus elise one). Even further from an f1 car..

Skip barber at sebring, hemestead miami, and daytona. The nascrap courses all have infield courses that actually are suprisingly affective for begininers.. lots of runoff.

I guess u all know the Ascari KZ1, nice car, comes with membership of the resort (or the other way round, dunno...thinking bout it, i think its the other way round :wink: )

Do you have a webpage for that? Georgia is one state up, I guess I could handle putting mileage on my baby for a good reason. I know what you mean about Daytona. I dont even want to lose my time. In orlando there is a "Speedway Track" which is a drag strip and nothing else... waste of time... Daytona... going round and round isnt fun either.

From what I hear they have a rather rudimentary infield road course. Not the greatest though.

Toronto, most of those aren't f1 cars. Most are formula cars. There is a difference. If I wanted a formula car Id build a formula mazda for about 30 grand. (Of the sites on that website only 2 of them provide f1 cars: f1 international and aintree)

Yes you can buy an f1, but not for 2000 dollars.

I'll bet you good money their aren't thousands of f1 cars. Their are multiple cars but ID be severely suprised if it numbered more then 4-5 cars per manufacturer per year. Factor in the multiple ones that bit the dust or are in museums and you'd prolly be hard pressed to find a few 100 available. Factor in those held privately and you come up with maybe 3-4 companies in the world that provide the service we are talking about.

50years of f1 x 10 teams (atleast) x 2 cars a team = 1,000, now ad in the extra teams, cars a year and .....
sorry I can't find any of my old mags (think I gave them to my brother) but I know they are at least 3-4 on this side of the pond that rent them out.
