These are the first photos of the upcoming M version of the BMW 3-Series Coupe. It can be recognized from the two big exhaust pipes at the rear and the large air intakes below the front license plate. Power for the Coupe and the upcoming Convertible comes from a variety of six-cylinder engines ranging from a 180-hp, 2.2-liter in-line six to a 258-hp, 3.0-liter six. The M3 will get a 4.0-liter V-8 delivering around 400 hp.

All i have to say is

Wow, IMO it really looks like they went backwards in the design department. The body styling looks more like something you'd see on a regular family sedan, not very agressive.

Also, I really hope they change that exhaust. The placement is ok, but I'd rather have twin tips out each side like the last M3.

This one just looks quite toned down.

Oh, hey..Thanks for the pics! Always good to see something new before it's unveiled to the public. Many of the members here seem to be really good at that.

you don't seriously think this is how the car will look like, do you?

you don't seriously masturbate this is how the penis extension will look like, do you?

I have no response to this as I have no idea what you're talking about.

its the new talking system that changes words

i am sure that it will look much better and aggressive when the car is officially released to the public. the spy pics almost never do the car justice.

car _car_ car _car_

therefor we can conclude car = _car_

the new M3 should be great

this is a heavily covered prototype. and thus the final version will not look anything like it.

you can imagine how the car's profile will look from the shape of the test car. but it's defintely no use to think this is even close to what the final version will look like.

loliea 04-01-2005 03:21 PM

Look at the proportion of the rear-profile of the rear of the car, doesn't look right to me. Looks like a Accord coupe

ferrarif1fan89 04-01-2005 04:09 PM

god, that thing is gonna be mean. i'll probably like it better than the m6 and m5.

rallyprox 04-01-2005 05:02 PM

Are you sure that is a BMW, it looks mroe like a Nissan or a Toyota. I am severly dissapointed in Bangles designs. He has lost all of BMW's classic design in a few years. In my opinion.

Sir_GT 04-01-2005 09:39 PM

You people ought to see the sedan in the metal... the best thing about it is the roofline... it's almost coupe-like.

The coupe and subsequent M3 will look magnificent. Look closely at the padding/camouflage... look at the size of the front wheel arches. Talk about FLARED.

ae86_16v 04-02-2005 03:22 AM

Looks very much like a 6 series. Yeah, it is hard to tell the agressive cues without seeing the car in the metal. Definitely look forward to seeing it in person. Mechanics wise you know it will not disappoint, but let's hope it'll keep it up looks wise.

neilo63 04-02-2005 06:05 AM

Pics dont say much, looks more like a mule than the actual M3 or anything but should be awesome none the less.

rallyprox 04-03-2005 07:28 PM

I will admit that it is a prototype, but in my opinion, and I know others have this same opinion, the newer BMWs no longer are attractive to the eye.
