Thanks for posting these pics, RC. A lot of the roads in west Texas are like this, hilly, sweeping bends, no other traffic for miles around. I drove from El Paso (on the TX/NM/Mexico border) to Carlsbad in New Mexico, maybe a two or three hour drive depending on your speed (150miles). this was during the day on a weekday. I saw scant traffic on my journey, and it was real fun ragging the Trans Am through the twisty mountain roads, big dual carriageways with 90-100mph bends... Yes, there are speed limits (75mph) but if there is no-one around to see you then who is to know you broke them? We hit 135mph a few times, and were averaging a hundred most of the way... |
Impressive scenery. A total different view than when I would look outside the window when flying home.
