Problem

Hi at all!
My car is a Opel Astra G Caravan with a 1.6 litre engine and 75PS!
The car only had 1156kg but the engine is too weak to drive it really fast!
What can i do to make the engine more powerful without spending much money in it?
I will add a acceleration vid soon so that you see what i mean!
The acceleration from 0-100km/h last till the cows come home.
Here is a pic from my car:

For the records, on JW, when you talk about your car, even when it's not a supercar and not in the "what do you drive" section, a custom shot is required ;)

Wilkommen bei JW!

My advice - sell the Astra wagon and buy a Turbo (200PS)

Es ist ein anderer Ausdruck für eine Ewigkeit.
Which "turbo" do you mean?

Buy astra petrol turbo, like in the GSi or Coupe!

It wasn't a serious comment, sorry!

Have you tried looking on Opel/Vauxhall forums? That is where I would go for specific performance tips.

I sadly don't think there is a cheap way to get a lot of power out of a 1.6 NA engine.

With another intake manifold, other cams, and another or a remapped ECU you can gain some power, certainly since your engine only produces 75 hp, which is very low for a modern European 1.6 NA engine. But those things don't come cheap. Unless your engine is an electronically downgraded version of a more powerful 1.6 NA Opel engine. In that case a remapping of the ECU can unleash some extra power.

^- starting with 75ps I completely agree, it would be a waste to put money into that engine. But if you don't have a choice about keeping the car there are plenty of inexpensive tweaks you can do. It's gonna be a lot of money before this car even resembles "fast" though

Alright, i understand. You mean i should buy a new car with plenty more PS?
