old and beat up E21 320i..///M edition

This is my coworkers "new" '83 E21 320i. He just picked it up last week from his brother (for free). It's beat to hell and has 207,000 miles worth of rust all over it, but the engine is still going strong.

i don't think he's going to have the money to restore it  there is a rust hole in the front left fram rail that i could stick my hand through  The Recaro seats that are in it (stock) would definetly be worth stealing :D

I'm not surprised the engine is still going strong. BMW has always built excellent engines. 8)

according to our field rep, that block is the one BMW used for their F1 engine in that era. It held 3 turbos, and was stroked. so the 7,000RPM redline on this engine is quite conservative. He has already taken it past 8K a couple of times and it never sputtered once.

car drifts like a dream too. of course that could be because of the broken sway bar end links in the rear

i'm not riding this car again until some of that rust is fixed
