F1 or F2

ok so they want to slow down F1 with V8s and limited sets of tires... bu8t then heres a question..
Won't F2 then become the faster formula?? I mean i read in Autosport that they were about 6 sec a lap slower. But, with the slowing down of F1 wont a fast F2 car be faster than say a Minardi... or even worse a Williams?

nah they wont let that happen..and also remember i nthe early '90s they limited the V12 engines, they said the new V10s wouldn't get much over 600hp...look at it now, they're getting closer and closer to 1000hp. The technicians of the F1 teams will find ways to make the cars FAST as hell, don't worry :D

well since bernie doesn't like F2 he has bought a new GP2 Trade mark. and word is that the TM GP1 is owned by bernie too. so f1 might have a change in the future from F1 to GP1,

but anyways, F1 will still be faster no point in trying to prove that GP2 will have better cars.

More money is obviously put into F1, and money equals speed, so F2 will never be close to F1.

ah its just a thought.. just like compairing the old indy cars vs F1.. i beelieve back in the 70s at silverstone Foyt was lapping faster than the current F1 cars.. and a few years ago for the first montreal indy race.. F1 was faster but used to read about all the journalists rubbing their hands together to get a good compairson on times..
Still i would laugh if an GP2 car lapped faster than F1..

I seriously doubt that older F1 cars would be faster than the 2004 spec car - even if you account for 1500 bhp cars from the 80s and also slick versus grooved tires.

The F2004 with its superior aero grip and decent mechanical grip would be way faster. When trying to compare times across decades, keep in mind that the circuit configuration would have changed with the addition of chicanes particularly since 1994....

thats the thing - with the stupidley large amount of money thats invested into formula 1, there is basicley no limits to what's acheavable, even with the strict rules they now have, and even more strict they want to introduce.

you read it wrong there mate... i meant 70s indy cars were faster than 70s F1

there no way in hell that they are the same now

There is no way that F2 cars would be faster. There is way too much money in Formula One. The V8's will be producing 900 horsepower in about 5-6 years. Just watch.
