I don't know if this was done in the past, but it's time to give out the vases to the winners and losers in F1 2004. Nominate your favourites in the following 15 categories:

Rubens Berichello... , Micheal Shumacher...Jenson Button is much improved...

Which single lap effort made you jump off your seat?

6. Overtaking manoeuvre of the year
Cleanest passing in the series of esses at... was it belgium? by JPM of MS

7. Car of the year
Ferrari... notable greatness of the BAR Honda too

8. Crash test dummy of the year
Ralf Shumacher @ the USGP... closely followed to Buttons 180mph blowout

9. Quote of the year
uh... martin brundle is the john madden of F1... oh, i made that up :P

10. Snail of the year
i never saw it, but if it were to happen... those Mercedes Mclarens were retiring out an awful lot this season

11. Best rule change
qualifying lap, tire choice , and fuel carryover

12. Worst rule change
no turbo charged F1 cars :P

13. Super Sub of the year
Who filled someone else's shoes well?

14. Defining moment of the year
3rd place was somebody different with regularaty

15. Favourite moment of the season
MS spinning in the first lap of Monza only to take 9th, and gain steadily to 2nd @'home' field

Jenson Button

2. Drive of the year
I enjoyed watching the Renault drivers fight those finicky cars.

3. Best Grand Prix
Spa, very glad it made it back on the schedule.

4. Qualifier of the year
Rubens

5. Qualifying lap of the year
Juan Pablo in the wet on dry tires at Suzuka, he had his hands full.

6. Overtaking manoeuvre of the year
There was overtaking in 2004?

7. Car of the year
BAR made huge strides.

8. Crash test dummy of the year?
Ralf learned why IRL drivers have such high insurance premiums.

9. Quote of the year
"We do not have any engine problems." -Ron Dennis in the middle of the Mclaren Diasaster, that was the first half of the season.

10. Snail of the year
Minardi fell further from the grid.

11. Best rule change
Elimination of launch control( a step towards the outlaw of traction control)

12. Worst rule change
I'm not a fan of the engine rule.

13. Super Sub of the year
Timo Glock filling in at Jordan.

14. Defining moment of the year
When Trulli broke Schumi's streak.

15. Favourite moment of the season
Kimi winning soundly at Spa

Trulli at Silverstone

9. Quote of the year
Mclaren will never win a race this year ... i will run naked in Silverstone if this happens - British Journo

Baumgartner

Michaels 12 wins out of 13 races - ultimate superiority

2. Drive of the year
Schumi at china to set the fastest lap on the last lap of the race

3. Best Grand Prix
Montreal (cause I saw it live)

4. Qualifier of the year
Michael Schumacher

5. Qualifying lap of the year
Sato @ motreal he was on track for a track record but spun out at the last turn and still beat most people!

Kimi when his rear wing went

9. Quote of the year
"Button in on track to win a GP by the end of the year" -f1 mag writer

When Schumi.....

15. Favourite moment of the season
Webber getting out of the car and getting treated for burns on his ass!

pretty much the same for the rest
15. Fav moment of the season
Shumi smashing his helmet after getting Fucked over by JBM and Monaco.....not really unless montoya was on the receiving end

1. Driver of the year
R. Barrichello. Yeah, Schumi won, but Barrichello is the only one i saw consistently pushing him race after race.

2. Drive of the year
Monza. Schumacher. start form pitlane, spin, finish 2nd. :shock:

3. Best Grand Prix
Monaco. Two tunnel crashes, one resulting in some colorful sign language. and an engine explosion on the water front that resulted in Massa getting airborne over Coulthard, and Trulli ends up on the top spot on the podium!

4. Qualifier of the year
Schumi. he always seems to have the best improved times from friday's sessions to Saturday's final run.

5. Qualifying lap of the year
never got to see any qualifying runs

6. Overtaking manoeuvre of the year
attempted pass: Takuma Sato's dive down the inside of Barichello at the Ring ( i think it was the Ring) on turn 1 in the closing laps. (maybe it was Hungoraring)

7. Car of the year
Ferrari. outside of them, i'd say Williams in the latter half.

8. Crash test dummy of the year
thats a toss up between Raikkonenn and R.Schumacher. Kimi's was entertaining, "going good...brakes nowwwwwwhoa shit, why am i dizzy?"
Ralf was unfortunate. i'll call it a tie.

9. Quote of the year
"I could a Driver's Championship in a BAR" Coulthard showing his bizarre sense of humor.


10. Snail of the year
Zsolt Baumgartner..i think even i could have done better than him this year.

11. Best rule change
no launch control- nice to see a little more of the driver's talents being used.

12. Worst rule change
1 engine per weekend

13. Super Sub of the year
Pizzonia

14. Defining moment of the year
Schmaucher's wreck in Monaco. It finally showed that he is human after all :wink:

15. Favourite moment of the season
Ralf Schumacher coming in 2nd in his return race.

Schumi when he would go out for the first practive lap, after all the teams had been out for 20minutes, first flying lap he would oftern beat the lap record by 1 second!

overtaking, u mean the leaders laping the slow cars?

BAR, fucking insane!

8. Crash test dummy of the year
kimi at silverstone, funny seeing him throw a stearing wheel worth 20grand into the car.

9. Quote of the year
"well.. i think thats an engine problem" i believe it was james while commentating, and there been a 10m flame comming out the back of a mclaren during a race,
also when they where interviewing minardi during the race, paul stodart commented that "the race was going well, and by the end of it they are hoping for a top 10 finish" when currentley dead last..

10. Snail of the year
Mclaren - as they headed for the grass following an exploding engine

11. Best rule change
no launch control, althoe the teams have found a way around it by not feeding so much fuel to the engine...

12. Worst rule change
still alowing them the choice of 100tyre compounds! i dont want the commontators to be talking about the cars tyres the whole race!

13. Super Sub of the year

when a frount left suspension gave way in a certian tunnel

15. Favourite moment of the season
webber not been able to launch a car from 2nd or 3rd on the grid, he got himself there, but coulden't take off without been swamed with 20 cars and losing alot of positions!
