New Caterham Seven Sprint
Has anyone seen Caterham are trying to attract the younger market with the new Sprint,
http://www.caterham.co.uk/images/sho.../sprint_03.jpg 1.4 ltr 16 valve engine Metallic paint finish 15” 8 spoke Anthracite wheels with bespoke Avon CR500 tyres Full weather equipment & Screen Leather Seats Momo sports steering wheel Heater Black pack Superlight suspension Carbon front cycle wings Carbon dash Max power: 100 bhp Maximum Speed: 110mph 0-60: 6.5 seconds Their also offering 1 years free insurance and a days training before you take the car home for yourself. all for £299.40 per month This must be quite tempting for the younger market that know their cars. I WILL own a caterham at some stage of my life, maybe not that model as it lacks real grunt, but I do think its the best car you can get for performance & handling for the price..... |
looks great.... especially the years free insurance ;)
How much is it without monthly finance? |
Not for a purist thats really into driving.
Although all the hot hatches around for the price aren't bad cars, they're hardly the sunday blast/track day car that the caterham is. I dont think anyone has a caterham as their only car but this looks a great second car even if u have a banger as your first. Obviously if u want only one car then a clio 182, or type r would be better. But for the money you cant get a better driving experience than a caterham ;) Plus i've never seen a hot hatch with one years free insurance which is a great bonus when buying a performance car |
man i thought thte topspeed was higher :( big let down.
|
id buy that, but id put a integra type r engine in (b18c5) with Jenvy throttle bodies :D

I want one. But yes, disapointing top speed. (Due to close gearing) My 1.4 106 can make 120 downhill with the wind behind it. Also @ £19,950.00. For me, thats Elise money??? Or at least a few other options. http://www.caterham.co.uk/showroom/sevens/sprint.htm |

I frankly don't think you can find a lot 100bhp cars that can run faster laps than this Caterham. |

Personally, ... I would save up for the R300 though ...
Tool around in a small car - 106 whtever in my early driving years and go thru the expensive insurance phase... After that buy this honey |

not fast enough to overcome the fact that its one of the most uncomfortable cars in the world. not worth it in my opinion.

I would love to have one of these to mess around with on the weekends, but I would want the higher output engine.
I'd be happy with a sub 5.5 sec 0-60 time. Going 0-60 in 6.5 isnt too inspriring, but the twisties would be fun. Cheers, Kal-EL |
