Doom3 on W98... solved

Does it work on 98 and if not any patch to make it work? 8)

ID lists this in the minimum system requirements:

English verision of Microsoft® Windows® 2000/XP

so i'd guess it won't work in 98.[/quote]

Just give it time, or get a new XP software. A patch will come along most likely. But 98 is really old

First download Hex Editor
http://www.expertcomsoft.com/

Second make a backup of the Doom III exe file.

Third install Hex Editor and open the DoomIII exe (doom3.exe) within Hex Editor

Fourth click edit on the toolbar to bring open a menu. Within the menu that appears click Find.

Fifth put in the find box GlobalMemoryStatusEx Now press ENTER.

Sixth you will now see highlighted GlobalMemoryStatusEx. The last 2 number of the line are 45 and 78. Change both numbers to 00. In other words change 45 to 00 and 78 to 00.

Seventh save the new Doom3.exe and play to your hearts content.
