BTW, This car has a secondary limiter of 186mph or 300kph, but as you know the very powerful engine sometimes runs the car into the 190mph's or 308kph...

I would love to see a 0-300km/h race between the E55 and the new E60 M5. I'm guessing the Mercs higher torque would pay off.

I would like to see that as well, but after looking at the test figures that recently came out (Autocar I think) it seems that even through the gears at high speeds the M5 seems to be faster. I would have thought that the instant torque would have prevailed instead of extreme top end power, but I think we will have to wait for a proper showdown!

It's still nice to guess though. ;)

I think a lot would come down to cw-values and front area etc. That's how a derestricted SL55AMG beats a Murcielago 0-300.....
