Can you figure this one out?

http://img49.exs.cx/img49/9015/DSC01573.th.jpg

1. what kind of transmission is this?
2. What car/cars did this come out of?
3. How many gears? 5 speed (TigerX)
4. (kind of vague) Transmission or Transaxle?
5. AWD/RWD/FWD?
BONUS: what series number is it?

HINT if you have a really good comp you might be able to zoom and read the brand off the Synchros.

Good luck with this one.

well i'd have to say its a four-speed manual and knowing you it probably came out of an old mustang or something like that and therefore being RWD

SilviaEvo 09-29-2004 12:20 AM

Wrong!

Here's a hint it was in school today some of you may know what I'm talking about. check the what you saw today section for something pertaining to what my school has

T-Bird 09-29-2004 12:59 AM

OH BTW it was a 5 speed TigerX although I bet you were just guessing

tigerx 09-29-2004 07:56 AM

not really i just count the number of thingy on the thingy, sorry, i don't noe the term. and it's from a cavalier?

T-Bird 09-30-2004 02:06 AM

It's German...

tigerx 09-30-2004 07:33 PM

it's from an audi then.

Wutputt 10-01-2004 02:49 PM

It would say a transmission, directly mounted on the engine and 4wd since the pinion is mounted on the output shaft. If this one is hollow it could possibly be out of an Audi Quattro or at least a manual Audi with the real Quattro system with Torsen central differential.

If this isn't correct I would guess it's a rear mounted transmission (front mounted engine) with directly mounted rear differential.
