What is happening?

Okay,

I have one system partiton, C:, on my hard drive which I only install Windows on. It is 4GB.
Now, I use 1,74GB of them on Windows.
But when I check how much disk space I have left, it shows 600MB!!!

Why?
I have 'show hidden files' on, and I'm not using any of my disk space on C: too keep recycled files in..

Be very, very kind and help me!

mmm... weird, im no computer expert like others but the partition thing takes some space, i know not that that much, besides that there is no reason i can think of this could have happened, i hope someone who really know helps u, sorry

I have Norton Internet Security 2005, with Antivirus included, but the only options I have when Right Clicking the Recycle Bin is the usual: Open, Explore, Empty Recycle Bin(which I did), make shortcut and properties. The only options within properties are the settings for how much deleted files may take from your harddrive.. But I'll search in help..

I have a 30GB partition for it, filled for 50%.

I automatically install all program files to E:\Programfiler, not C:, maybe that has something to do with it.. And I have My documents on C:

I only partitioned 8 gigs and i still got half free. Having "My documents" on there is prob taking up a bunch of space (and you can move it). I think the problem is probably sytem restore. Try turning it off under system in your control panel.

I don't think it was System Restore, but the problem was under System...
System -> Advanced -> Performance -> Advanced -> Virtual Memory...
Thanks..

Yeah - you had a huge ass swap file configured... ;) -- just don't go make it too small and screw your system speed into the ground.. :)

Is 500MB a small swap file? That's what I set it on.. I haven't got much space on my harddrive, 30 gigs, the same as thamars system drive, so I can't throw the space away.
