Concerts!
I just got back from an awesome 30+ bands concert... Some flashings went on (got one on camera :) ) So this brings me to my point. What concerts have you been to, and what was/is your favorite one you've been to?
|
I just returned from a Method Man/ Busta Rhymes concert myself and it was awesome. I went in with low or no expectations because I wasn't really into there type of music but I left a changed person. The best part is that it was put on by my University so it was free (except for the 25k tuition here). Anyway it was a great concert with awesome energy and very entertaining.

I've been to lots over my years, I'm bound to forget something but I'll give it a shot.
Foo Fighters- twice Red Hot Chili Peppers- twice Metallica 7 Seconds Screw 32 NoFX- twice Pennywise- three times Millencolin Rancid- twice Blink 182- twice, back when they were good Soul Coughing- twice Suicide Machines Pantera White Zombie Guttermouth Boy Sets Fire X-Fest- sucked, never went again, weekend long, about 40 bands Warped Tour- three times, 30+ bands Dropkick Murphys No Use For a Name My favorite would probably be Pennywise, their music rocks and seeing them live is about as good as it can get. I have serious fun everytime I've seen them. |
I go to concerts once a month, usually to a club called "Progresja". The bands that play there are of course not famous, but I really enjoy their music. But I promised myself to go see 'Hatebreed' if I pass my exams well this school year

I haven't been too many....since they are such a rip-off over here.
The best one I've seen is the John Butler Trio....which is an Aussie band (though John Butler himself is Californian) and that was very entertaining. |

I love a live performance, soo much better than a CD. It pisses me off when the act puts on a lame show, just because they couldn't be bothered.
Moby x 3 Beastie Boys x 2 Fatboy Slim (as Fatboy & Norman) (x 3) Faithless Tool x 3 Chem Bros Phillip Glass Ensemble at Syd Opera House Groove Armada Avalanches (numerous times, at least 6) Public Enemy Dandy Warhols Primus Radiohead Ben Harper Faith No More Helmet Jamiroquoi Korn St.Germain Laurent Garnier Soundgarden Rage against the machine Massive Attack x2 Michael Franti BB King Ben Harper (has the voice of an angel) Regurgitator Sonic Animation St.Germain Weird Al Yankovich The Tea Party Ben Folds x2 (once with his former band and the other time with the 3 Bens , the others being Ben Lee & Ben Kweller) Faith No More The 3 Tenors (Pavarotti, Domingo & Carreras) I've seen acts such as Barnsey (Jimmy Barnes), the Midnight Oils , George, Powderfinger, Alex Lloyd, Silverchair, Regurgigator, Sonic Animation far too many times for my own good A few 'big name' DJs I've bopped/listened/perform at parties/raves Q-Bert, Oakenfold, Masters at Work, Digweed, Sascha, LTJ Bukem, Judge Jules, Timo Mass, Pete Tong Artists/acts I would have loved to have watched, some I will never get the chance to due to death tapping on their shoulder :( REM, Sting (either his old stuff with the Police, or better his solo stuff, that jazz band he plays with is sublime), Nirvana, Prince, Tom Waits, Jimi Hendrix, Elvis Costello, Herbie Hancock, Queen, James Brown, Sinatra, Miles Davis, Jeff Buckley, Elvis, U2, Pink Floyd, Grandmaster Flash, Beatles, Michael Jackson, Red Hot Chilli Peppers (although , I've heard that Anthony Kiedis' voice is not all that good live), when I was at school and uni, I used to spend all my money and time on watching musicians perform live (both mainstream, pub & independant acts). I also try to watch acts when overseas since, Australia doesn't get all that many coming down to our shores. |

I didnt go to too many. A few Ukrainian concerts so I wont bother naming those since know one knows who they are anyways.
but international bands go as follows: Thin Lizzy Joe Satriani Deep Purple |
1999:
Korn/Rob Zombie/Videodrone Family Values Tour 1999- Limp BIzkit, Primus, Filter, Staind, Method Man/Redman 2001: Pledge of Alliegence tour- Slipknot (sucked), System of a Down, Rammstein, Mudvayne, No One 2003: Godsmack, Adema (ok, really just went for Godsmack) Lacuna Coil and a couple of smaller bands Coldsnap 9 (small band in Phoenix, AZ) Turbo Negro 2004: HIM   , Eighteen Visions, Kill Hannah (is there a barfing emoticon?) i'm also batting around the idea of going to the Voodoo Music Fest. just to see Green Day but im really not sure if i want to give TicketMaster another insane handling charge. (it was 21 bucks to see HIM after the $6.00 charge) however if the Metallica/Godsmack tour comes through..i might just go  (yes i will pay $70 for 2 bands) |

Yeah, the show was pretty good. My best friend had been listening to them for a few weeks when they came through phoenix. I wasn't really into them at first but once i saw them live i thought they were a pretty decent band. The club we saw them at wasn't the best. They couldn't get the settings right on the mixing board for the Lacuna Coil show so the highs were too shrieky |
