If only I could "waster" 250-300 USD on a 1:43 model, it would be mine too!

What you can do: buy some BBR's, the limited editions, somewhere where it's cheap. Save them some time and enjoy them. After a couple years there are worth some 100 euro's more, and you can buy even more AA/minichamps.

Personally I just got a BBR, and it's fantastic. Since it's limited to 250 pieces, I can sell it in 2 years for a nice price (maybe 400 euro's). I bought it at a very reasonable price (around 200 euro's). :D If I tell people I paid around 200 euro's for a 1/43, they'll declare me nuts, but when you tell it's a very rare edition, it changes everything.

I must say, I can't spend all my money on those handbuilt Italian 1/43 models. I buy the prettiest and rarest (if I can) and for the rest I try to buy some good, cheaper 1/18's. I see the handbuilt ones more as an investment. So are AA's and Minichamps, but to a lesser extent. For both (1/43 and 1/18) you have to get the rare ones. They make your money.

well to tell u the truth i dont go and buy my models with intentions of selling them,i buy them for a collection of my own of cars i like.i would like a couple BBR models for the limited production but i woudlnt buy one just to sell it.but as i said i would much rather get a couple AA or other 1:18 models for that price.

Most of my models I won't sell either, but still someday and somehow they'll be sold, and then you have something to sell, but that's also the case with an AA, only they will be far cheaper then a BBR. If you have to sell a Hotwheels, even a Maisto, the prices will be very low.
