What you can do: buy some BBR's, the limited editions, somewhere where it's cheap. Save them some time and enjoy them. After a couple years there are worth some 100 euro's more, and you can buy even more AA/minichamps.
Personally I just got a BBR, and it's fantastic. Since it's limited to 250 pieces, I can sell it in 2 years for a nice price (maybe 400 euro's). I bought it at a very reasonable price (around 200 euro's). :D If I tell people I paid around 200 euro's for a 1/43, they'll declare me nuts, but when you tell it's a very rare edition, it changes everything.
I must say, I can't spend all my money on those handbuilt Italian 1/43 models. I buy the prettiest and rarest (if I can) and for the rest I try to buy some good, cheaper 1/18's. I see the handbuilt ones more as an investment. So are AA's and Minichamps, but to a lesser extent. For both (1/43 and 1/18) you have to get the rare ones. They make your money.
