Which is ur favourite modern Alfa model?

Tsjilp 08-29-2004 01:23 PM

whay about making a poll of it ...

My dad went to England some time ago for a business trip. Of course he needed a car, so he hired one...he had to choose between: a white Renault Laguna, a green Ford Mondeo (both had about 60000 clicks done) or a brand new navy Alfa Romeo 156 (2L engine) :D Guess what he chose ?? :D And what's most amazing...all these cars were in the same price range!!

Yeah, the 156 is currently my favourite model. The new generation version looks even more agressivce and classy. The 147GTA comes a close second with it's 325BHP (as far as I remember), which is pretty insane for a FWD car.

correction 250 Hp :D which is already "enough" for a FWD

personally I love the Alfa GT, but my all time favorite is the 155 (the sporty ones)

The 147 GTA Autodelta is the one with 325hp. The original one only has 250hp in a 3.0V6 while the Autodelta is 3.2 I think.

The original 147 GTA is a 3.2 V6 250 Hp ...

Ford Capri 2.8i 08-29-2004 02:07 PM

sorry for correcting you dani, but the alfa GTAs have a 3200cc engine

About my opinions of alfas..for instance ive never considered to buy an alfa once ive been always very concerned about its reliability and very wary as a result before buying any car......if it werent for its image here in Spain, any alfa could have been considered in my tastes, once any version of alfa has always given some sensation of crispy car, nimble.......anyway....apart from the 147 GTA.....the others alfas that i consider as some of the bests sportiest cars ever are the GTV-6, and the Alfa 75 V6 America (192bhp version, the second version of america), nonetheless..... the red Alfa Sprint QV was a beautiful car during and its technical data was interesting as well

Mr.Vercetti 08-29-2004 05:15 PM

The 147 GTA has the 3.2 V6, 250bhp.
The Autodelta 147 has exactly the same engine but its displacement is 3.7cc/328bhp.

I don't mind Alfas either, not my first choice for a car but nice nonetheless.
I have driven my parents neighbours 156 and it was quite a nice car.
There are a ton of Alfa's in the area I live in so if you like I can take a few photos and post them.

Well, i'm an Alfa fan and so is my dad, he owns a 146 Ti, the one in my signature and I have a 1971 Giulia soon to enter restoration, in a week or so, oh it's 1.6 liter engine too..

360modena 08-31-2004 06:50 PM

Well it's cool to see so much alfa fan in the community. My favorite modern one is the 156 GTA for beauty and sportivity ability. So for the older car please ask question by decade it will be easier to choose (not sure finally ).

Mr.Vercetti 09-06-2004 07:17 PM

I never answered to this topic... :P So here's my answer. As far as modern street Alfa's is concerned my fav. one is 156 GTA. Aggresive, serious looks, superb engine, amazing handling(considering that we'r talking about a car with 250bhp in the front wheels), vgood quality. Ohh and of course the option to turn VDC completely off.

Now, as far as modern race Alfa's is concerned, my fav. is 155 DTM. You know, that red one that used to roar through the DTM racetracks. :D

sikx5 09-06-2004 07:54 PM

I gotta say the 155 has it, the noise is just amazing, that raspy note is awesome!

gbg 09-06-2004 11:40 PM

i love the 166, a very comfortable car with a nice engine and a great sound system

although alfas are a bit expensive in my country, and for the price of a new 166 i would rather pick a BMW

Attie 09-30-2004 10:15 AM

My favourite modern Alfas are the 156 GTA and the GTV.
For the older one I like the 75 3.0 V6 America. I had one. I had to sell it :( But I plan to own an other again.

Now I drive a 155, but this is nothing compare to the 75. No rear drive, no V6 :( Anyway I'm not complaint, I love it too :) And in the DTM the 155s beat everybody! :)

Forza Alfa Romeo! :D

gucom 09-30-2004 10:37 AM

i like the GT alot, it looks lower than other alfa's (probably is), and it just looks GOOD in my opinion...plus a friend's father has one, and i know that, if you rev it, i SOUNDS good too :D
