First SLR in the US (NO PICS)

Jay Leno just got the first SLR in the United States today or yesterday I saw it on CNN.

Does anyone have any more information on it?
He is making me very very envious now, as if 2 Miura's isn't enough he has to go get the First SLR in the States and the 2nd Forc GT for the Public, and A Y2K, and ...

I don't think the SLR he got is the first??

There was an auction for the very first silver SLR early this year in L.A. with the money go to a charity.

If you go to the DuPont Registry, there are at least 1 SLR (silver) for sale which is already on ground and driven.

the first SLR was at Benz of Long Island, the owner was seling it for a $$1mill

T-Bird 08-27-2004 01:49 PM

you have to understand that his is officialy the first in North America there have been some that got imported to the states already but they aren't official.

Yes he has the first GTS viper grey w/ silver stripes. Along with many other fine automobiles including a Stanley Steamer.

as much as i perfer jay lenos car collection to any other collection i know of...

im far from jeolous of his mclarens'
i think gordon murry should jump to kia, in spite of the troubles with dennis, and head... and make the ultimate compromise car... i bet it would be more profitable

The Chinned one with his SLR. To think he used to work for Merc as a mechanic.

You can damn him some more as according to this the Chinned one was supposed to take possession of the McMerc SLR, Ford GT and Porsche Carrera GT all on the same day. If I were to be placed in his position I wouldnt know which one to drive first.

Oh yeah he shunned the Enzo because he doesnt like paddle shifts. Ummmm.... OK...
