Evo - Lancia Integrale Evoluzione buying guide
 

A scan from an early evo magazine, one of the few i dont own but I luckily managed to find the buying guide (& history) online of what is one of my favourite cars ever - the legendary Lancia Integrale Evo. Enjoy :)


Edit: for those that are unfamiliar with this car, it's basically the road going version of the most successful WRC car ever, which was champion in 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991 and finally 1992 after which it bowed out of competition. A predecessor to today's Imprezas and Mitsubishi Evo's. But much nicer, of course :p

Now that you make me think about it, it has been a while since they last included a buying guide in the mag! I love all the new features they have, more racing coverage and such, but their buying guides are so great! I hope they will come back on a regular basis!

Yeah, the Brazilian magazines do it.

I think that the story of buying a good 1992 integrale is similar to buying a 1992 or older Ford Sierra Cosworth, a second hand BMW M3 E30 once normally a few of them are in good conditions, and the best thing i think is to buy one of them very cheaply, and to replace the spare parts one by one in order to get the brilliant performances that these car were know, and a reliable car as well, once i know a friend who has searched a sierra cosworth 4x4 and to make the engine work properly, he has to replace every important parts of the engine such as the pistons, the segments, the turbo.......

Capri> the cheap ones tend to be the rusty ones :(
For that reason i'd go for a low mileage, as close to mint as poss example. There are a few around, and prices have dropped significantly (in the last two years especially).

TT> I have noticed that too (fewer buying guides in evo). Also, they've recently done more group buying guides than guides dedicated to individual cars. I like their new "Technical" section though :)


Anyway, another Integrale article here (+ Porsche & Lotus!) and more to come - yeah, im an integrale nut if you hadnt guessed already :D
