my brother in motorcycle accident update 4
edit: update on last page
:( by brother is quite a good rider, and has been doing it for years. on the way home, i just recieved word that he was in an accident, i will update when i can. thanks for your support and prayers edit 8-20 the bike apears mostly intact, with only one visible 'broken bone' attatching the exhaust pipe to the frame. more pics will follow as we have to prepare for the legal assistance, and understand what exactly happened. but here's the kicker... the idiot who cause the accident is still pulling the same fool stunt that cause the accident to begin with :? :2gunfire: oh yeah, its a 99 GSXR 600 the equipment he wears, and likely saved his upper torso, head, and hands. i can never understand why anybody would not want to wear these protectives... survival of the fitest i suppose... http://img18.exs.cx/img18/4468/DSC1108.jpg http://img18.exs.cx/img18/9868/DSC01108.jpg http://img18.exs.cx/img18/2283/DSC1111.jpg http://img54.exs.cx/img54/1064/DSC00946.jpg http://img54.exs.cx/img54/1848/DSC00949.jpg http://img54.exs.cx/img54/7177/DSC951.jpg http://img54.exs.cx/img54/3145/DSC00954.jpg accident scene http://img18.exs.cx/img18/4984/DSC1155.jpg the F150 was facing the wrong direction in the exit ramp to the subdivision, and pulled across the road in front of my brother... then once he saw my bro, he stopped, and caused the accident. notice just about 15 inches of tire patch... that seems to have been the point of impact with the rear bumper, and caused the bike to slide sideways. he realed in the power quite superbly until that point as skidding stops slower then otherwise. not even a mile from the house... http://img18.exs.cx/img18/6913/DSC01148.jpg we figure the bike separated near the first blood mark on the pavement http://img18.exs.cx/img18/488/DSC1152.jpg for those squeemish, just a thumbnail http://img18.exs.cx/img18/8155/DSC01157.th.jpg things turned down today, some of the peeled skin hasnt taken, and is dying. also, infection has set in, and so has a fever. to remedy both these situations, they are operating again on thursday to open the wound again. also, but not in conjuntion with, they will place some skin grafts on him for a time. unfortunately, we arent expecting to see him home for at least a week... perhaps 2 :( |

I hope everything is ok with your brother. two friends of mine have been in motorcycle accidents, I know how scary it must be for you.
Best Wishes! |
Sorry to hear this.
Having busted, broken and mangled most of my extremities (including a broken head) I know I had my family worrying for me many times - as you must be for your bro. From his perspective you can be sure any support you offer will help the healing processes - both phyiscal and mental. Hang in there and know all motorcyclists everywhere spare a thought for fellow riders everyday. |
maybe you should show him this thread when he gets better my thoughts are also out to you good luck.
