Very nice clip but hardly a review when they haven't driven it yet. I doubt that the V10 in the E60 M5 is developed directly from the BMW Williams F1 car. 1.5 Litre difference in displacement first of all and also about 10 000 rpms..

Thanks anyway Mopsdrops!

man that video is almost identical to one we saw here in Aus off drive.com.au
The commentary is slightly different, but the footage is identical. really weird... this is a lot clearer though, just listen to that engine! :!: i'm in love..
Thankyou for the link :)

Hmmm...I thought they used 3.0L engines in F1, and isn't this a 5.0L...wouldn't that be a 2.0L difference, maybe you want to brush up on your math. ;) ;) ;) :P

I heard that too...and I'm thrilled! I hope that wasn't some kind of mistake on the part of the TV show...because if that's true, then all is not lost for BMW and ///M :D.

Maybe it will be a standard 6spd manual, because at first the BMW engineers gave the excuse for no manual as '7 speeds in the H-gate pattern as too much'...I will keep hoping that it is true.

Even if they use 3.0Litre engines it's not my math I have to brush up it's my Formula 1 knowlegde. I thought they used 3.5Litre engines in Formula 1. Anyway they did before.

They did use 3.5l engines up till a few years ago, but after various measures to slow the cars down, the capacity was lowered as well.

As for the e60, I really hope M-Power and BMW give a manual option as it really sets their M5 apart from the other German uber-saloons
